We need to go after one year players if they are a good fit and have proven to be able to play at this level. Having to recruit your own players year after year means there is nothing wrong bringing in good ones that will be here a short time. This really comes down to if they are good enough to help your team out immediately. That is the new blue print in college sports. Do not like it but have to live with now.

I know Cooper will be contacted! He's a local player who may want to play in Peoria! I know will score some players in the portal. Just 1 transfer from Iowa or Rutgers would be sweet! haha

D2 portal- Lewis Rowe- 6'10" post-grad forward at D2 St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. He has one season of eligibility left. He has played in his home country of Australia, then one season at VMI, then a season at New Mexico junior college, then the last 2 seasons at D2.St. Edward's University.
he averaged 13.0 ppg and 6.2 rpg this season.

I’m hearing that Cooper is going to try for a medical redshirt this year as he only played in 10 games before being shut down. I’m sure Zobs has been talking to him

Report that Cooper Koch has "heard from DePaul, Ole Miss, Saint Louis, Valpo, Bradley" - https://x.com/247HSHoops/status/1902842193733357708

A couple more potential transfers-
....

D1 portal- Doctor Bradley- 6'8" forward at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He averaged 19.6 ppg and 9.5 rpg this season....

FWIW-- we ought to be heavily pursuing a big, athletic post player who goes aggressively after rebounds.

a couple examples - altho obviously I don't know all the factors, whether they'd want to consider Bradley, or their academics, of
course that would be up to our staff, or whether better players are available in the portal.

This kid's best offer right now is Tennessee Tech (20ppg/11rpg) - LINK

another with only one DI offer, who is averaging 20 ppg & 11 rpg - LINK

and there are several more - hope we can land a couple. If you saw how McNeese dismantled Clemson, it was the size & athleticism up front. They decisively outrebounded (and 18 offensive rebounds) a much bigger team.

I think Bradley is going to have a good recruiting year

I agree with this 100%. I think we saw from Drake, and if you are an Illini fan from them, what having superior positional size can do.

Agree that we need big inside players with the knack of getting their fair share of rebounds. Reading from a previous post that Iowa has been in contact with Wardle. Do not know if this is true or not, but if it is will our current three recruits reconsider. And what about players who maybe have BU in mind. Upon hearing of a potential coaching change, will they no longer consider BU. Interesting times going forward to say the least.:-o

There should be no reason why Bradley can't find very good players in the Portal! We should be able to rebuild in one year!!! Look at All the teams that have done this after losing there entire roster! I keep thinking how Utah State is one that keeps getting to the NCAA tourney and we beat them! We should be able to compete for a Arch Madness crown next year and every year!!!! There are no more taking years to rebuild with the Portal! Plus to top it off, I just read an article stating that schools
