Commits to Tulsa
.. don’t get it ….
they are terrible . Perennial bottom dweller, have averaged 20 losses per season the last four years - woulda been more except 5 years ago, due to COVID shortened season, they didn’t play enough games to lose 20.

every year they have a mass exodus, their roster page is a complete rebuild every year. Maybe they pay decent NIL?
Maybe it's the chance for instant playing time, but Popoola put up awesome numbers in juco (19ppg, 10rpg, 3 asst)
and had over 20 offers including a few MVC offers. Oh well, no use worrying about the ones that don't want to come here.

I would believe Bradley's recruiting staff is very short handed and are minus top assistants, I assume. Coaches leaving hit us at very bad times. Also NIL money may be the culprit.

Yep, out of all of them in the portal..he was the one I was hoping for....figures....if you are over 6'10" and have a pulse...the P5's will give you a boatload of $$

DR, we saw this guy up close and personal in Myrtle Beach and I didn't think anyone on Portland, with the exception of their PG showed any heart at all. Was I missing something or did this guy end up doing something during the year? In fairness, I don't pay any attention to any conference other than the MVC, and REALLY don't pay attention to the WCC!

You know Tommy, I actually didn't watch Portland in person at all in that tourney...I did watch them a few times on espn plus just because they played some people we had scheduled and thought I'd see how they fared against them....but this kid is only a freshman..is 6'10" and avg'd about 14 and 6 a game as freshman at a D1 school....looked pretty skilled in the games I watched.

And let me clarify...when I said of all the kids in the portal..I meant kids from Southern Utah and Portland that potentially would follow their coaches we are supposedly getting...not the entire portal.

Ah, I wasn't even following the coaching connection. That makes sense.

I have been told that a scholarship offer was made, but it was later withdrawn. - https://www.pjstar.com/story/sports/high-school/basketball/2021/06/23/bradley-illinois-state-basketball-offer-metamora-prospect-ethan-kizer/5310293001/#:~:text=Kizer%20got%20his%20first%20college%20off er%20in%20April%2C%C2%A0from%20Bradley.%20His%20se cond%20offer%20followed%20soon%20after%2C%20from%2 0Illinois%20State.

If this link leads to a paywall, try opening it in an incognito or private window.

If that doesn't work, here is a quote from the above Dave Eminian/PJ Star article from June, 2023-
Kizer got his first college offer in April, from Bradley. His second offer followed soon after, from Illinois State. Now, he's a rising Peoria-area star with offers on the table from two local rivals.

Tomahawk.
I applaud your sense of urgency.
But there are well over 3000 players in the mix.
Div 1. Div 2. Juco . Over seas. High School.

I recall CD saying "When I got here. I didn't play a lick of defense."
Maybe a little tough to find folks especially backcourt
that can be a Wardle defense fit on day 1..
C Thomas really wanted to make it work and it took a season.
K Thomas...

I have to believe the first day fits are out there.
I do not envy the thought of watching 1000s of hours of film.
To find a better than good fit..

I would say our coaches have a great idea on whom they want and most of the time it just takes some NIL money and selling them on our program. Bradley basketball has had a lot of success in the last several seasons. Good players like to win.
