2025 BU commit- Dietrich Richardson

Thanks Coach for clarifying the Information regarding D.Richardson's college choices. Kind of Worried if he's still considering more then 3 schools, but still hoping BU will win out! I can't wait to hear his choice and hopefully his reasons for his selection. BU can only hope that their program fits his goals. It is hard to compete against the SEC ( vanderbilt) but it's understandable if that's his choice. We have to hope he wants to be a star in his hometown! At least we have a chance because Brian Wardle has built a very good team with a winning culture! He would have never considered Bradley I believe during those down years before our upswing! Here's hoping come Saturday!

I'm with you, Steve! We've got the reasons for him to come play. And playing at a mid-major gives him a chance to stand out more, as well as get more playing time as an underclassman. I hope it doesn't come down to NIL money, but that seems to be how most choices are made anymore, doesn't it?

Agree. If he chooses Bradley, he would be joining a program that is riding a wave of success, as opposed to Wyoming and Vanderbilt who are coming off losing seasons and new coach hires who are going to be rebuilding. And yet, he would find a lot of immediate playing time here with all the turnover. And yes, he would become a star and a fan-favorite in his hometown.
Bradley coaches have to be feeling good about their chances. :)

2025 Dietrich Richardson- 6'6" guard from Manual HS in Peoria.
There are some web sources that say he is the son of former Peoria HS star D.J. Richardson, who played for Bruce Weber at Illinois (2009-13). But he is D.J.'s nephew. DJ had a six year pro career overseas, and is now an assistant coach at East Peoria.

According to Gavin Sullivan, Richardson is on an Official Visit to Bradley today

With the players leaving after this season, would have to believe he would get immediate playing time. Hope he takes that into consideration and chooses Bradley.:D

I would think it has to be between BU and Vandy.

Wyoming doesn’t make much sense to me and would be a lateral (or worse) move than going to BU. Vandy would make sense being in the SEC and bigger NIL probably but staying home makes the most sense (family gone to UofI) and from Peoria. Also, has AAU teammates going to BU.

Of i recall, the Interest in Wyoming has to do with a close relationship of some sort with the coach.

Peorian Nic Reynolds (older brother of one-time Bradley recruit Noah Reynolds), a 2014 graduate of Peoria Notre Dame, is now an assistant at Wyoming - https://gowyo.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/nic-reynolds/3103

He attended Columbia College, an NAIA school in Columbia, Missouri - https://columbiacougars.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/nic-reynolds/1124
He has been coaching since graduating in 2018, and was on the staff of Sundance Wicks at Green Bay last season before following Wicks to Wyoming for this season. He would be about 10 years older than Dietrich Richardson, and I can't find any connection he has had with Richardson, but it's possible.
