The official NCAA Transfer Portal is not currently open, and the only exception would be for players if their coaches are fired or leave/
HOWEVER- there is now already one MVC player who has left his team and will enter the portal & transfer when able to.
UIC's Chris Walker has left the team and will transfer - LINK
Walker was an outstanding high school player and was a McDonald's All American nominee but got injured and recruiting dropped off. He verballed and went ot Arkansas-Little Rock in 2021 but redshirted.
He played 2022-23 at Little Rock, then 2023-24 & 2024-25 at Binghamton where he averaged 11.6 ppg and 43.6% from 3-point.
He then entered the portal in spring of 2025 and transferred to UIC. (his agent is Daniel Ponemann). However- he has NOT YET played at UIC, and there's been no real explanation. In a very early statement (Oct. 21) before the season started, Head Coach Rob Ehsan did say Walker could be out for the entire season but - did not reveal whether it's injury related or disciplinary. Regardless- now he's not at UIC and will look to transfer elsewhere and enter the portal when he's able to.
