Just 3 months before practices start! And I am sensing a great deal of excitement about this year.

Bradley has not had a "Midnight Madness" event since Jim Les has been head coach. With the significant player and coaching turnover, and all the new guys, I would like to see Bradley do something like that this year.
However, maybe fans here can help encourage a Midnight Madness type event.
I don't want to bother the coaches by filling up their email boxes with emails, but if anyone has an idea of how we can let the coaches or Athletic Department know this would be a good idea, please post your thoughts.
Maybe this thread could be stuck to the top of the board and lets have everyone post here if you think an early season event, such as a Midnight Madness on Friday, October 12th is a good idea. I know people at Bradley read this board, so I hope it works!

Bradley Midnight Madness is a great idea. I would strongly encourage Bradley to consider it.

I have always thought this would be a good thing for Bradley. I am sure it would be successful with the large and enthusiastic fans Bradley has. I also think it would go over big with the students to have such an event on campus. Students are just getting started at midnight on a Friday!

Thanks for suggesting it BU Bill. We'll sticky it to the top of the board and add a poll. But I think I already know what our posters will think about it.

This is the perfect year for BU to have a Midnight Madness considering the fact we will have at least 7 new players on the team everyone is interested in seeing. I would think this would be a big draw this year. I hope it happens......

This would be an awesome event to have this year, especially considering the "record pace" in which season tickets have been moving!

A little confused does the official start begin on the Thursday going into Friday night at midnight or is it Friday night going into Saturday?

I think that this would not only be a great way to introduce the new players and coaches but it should also be a way to really get the students involved. Have activities starting around 11:00 that get the kids involved. One idea that we probably all saw on ESPN is a half court shot for a free semester tuition. If not tuition then maybe just books or something. Get some sponsors behind it and try to give away some nice stuff for the students and fans....t-shirts, sweatshirts, free tickets, gift certificates etc....Once this is done have a new years eve type countdown to bring on the 2007 - 2008 Braves....could be a great way to kick off an exciting year!!!!

GO BRAVES!

And another thing....

If the university would let us... set up a booth in the foyer for Bradleyfans.com to introduce this board to people who may not be aware of it. We could get some of our "regulars" to hand out flyers and maybe Tornado could do a guess the attendance pick-em for anyone who stops by the booth...I will be the first to volunteer an hour of my time to man the booth!!

Geeez....how many more days till the season starts?!?

It would begin at midnight on the night of Friday, October 12 (going into Saturday am).
Practice is allowed to start at midnight of the first friday night before Oct. 15th.

It would be great PR for Bradley,
and generate interest among young fans,
as well as students.
I don't think it would require any work or
preparation by the players.
They usually enjoy these events as much
as the fans do.

Come on Bradley, let's do it.!

There are a lot of new faces for the fans to see and what a better way to get the season started  .......most have high expectations for this upcoming season! 8)

I think JL has stated before he doesn't want to lose a day of practice...with all the newbies I see that being the case more then ever.

Definately a yes!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking along the lines of a tailgate type of party starting around 8pm.. get a couple of sponsors and some
bands along with the contests mentioned above... Then move everything inside and profile some of the past players and then
build everything to midnight....

A certain money maker for the boosters! 8)

It would be an outstanding idea to kick the season off with all the new players and I will guarantee to sell at least 10 tickets for this event; it would be a great way to get the students pumped up as mid-night madness would be the place to be.

With that said.....I'm in. Went to one years ago when Mo was coach. Poorly organized. Poor attendance.
