That is Evansville's 21st straight loss dating back to Dec. 21, 2019, when they beat Murray State. It is Todd Lickliter's 15th straight loss without a win since he was named head coach on January 22, 2020.

Drake moved to 2-0 with a win over South Dakota 69-53 in the Little Apple Classic in Manhattan, Kansas

And the Missouri State home game against Evangel University was cancelled, reportedly due to multiple Missouri State personnel testing positive for Covid.

Northern Iowa just lost to Utah State 82-71-

They are now 0-3, though they have not played badly. The 3 teams that beat them (Western KY, St. Mary's, and Utah St.) just played exceptionally well. Maybe it could be their defense? Whatever the reason, it's not a good look for the MVC that the team picked #1 is now 0-3 on the season. They were 11-1 last season in non-conference games. I still think they will be one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the MVC.

UNI looked good against WKU. That was an acceptable loss. But the losses to St. Mary's and Utah St. were bad.

In the final MVC game of the day, Valparaiso played well, and lead several times down the stretch. But they went cold in the final few minutes and Vanderbilt won the game 77-71-

For Valpo, their big guys, McMillan and Krikke, look very much improved. Sophomore Donovan Clay was solid, but they just weren't getting enough production from their guards tonight.

Sophomore guard Scotty Pippin, Jr. had 25 points for Vanderbilt. He is the son of former Chicago Bulls star and HOF'er Scottie Pippin.
