6 positive thoughts about the game last night

so why would any "fan" simply proclaim before the season is over "i'm done, I am not following the team any more.."

I agree...excellent post Mayhem...

I myself might take it a whole lot more serious than most because I have played sports for close to 3 decades...and I'm very involved in the teams I follow...

T-

Really? In it for themselves? Could you elaborate? I mean on here I don't believe this is a McDade issue where people have that much of a vested interest or are making money off this...

That said I agree with one thing you said...i cheer for the players...frankly it's more about them than the coach with myself and I feel as though they're being cheated with such a poor finish, especially for guys like Dodie and Drew who have to end their careers being on one of the worst teams in BU history...

I could dwell on the argument about the coach all I want, but it won't make any difference as we've all come to the conclusion that the battle lines are drawn...

But will everyone agree that no matter who the players or coaches are, we would all be much happier and get along much better with a 23 win Valley championship team?

I clearly, then, have a different concept of what a sore loser is...

I consider a sore loser someone who gets mad, blames the coach, turns on the players, turns on other fans/posters, wants everyone fired, and thinks they know better how to build a winner..always looking for someone to blame and lay the fault on...

Instead, I am not sore at all....show me any such evidence...I am instead quite hopeful, optimistic, still wearing red and supporting my team 100% (unlike a lot of people who lay claim to being Bradley fans) and having a good time being a good fan..
I will be here still supporting my team unlike so-called-fans who say right out openly on the message board...
"i'm done watching/listening/caring for this season"

So call it what you want, but to me a sore loser is one who blames everyone else and quits right when his team needs him the most.

Show me "such evidence" that your paragraph two is correct.

Well according to you thAts happening all over including places like ISU and CU. And according to many its got nothing to do with the team and its more economic.

COuld be just a person talking out of frustration....why does JL say the things HE says and get T's. Is he really that bad a person...does he mean what he says or is he frustrated like many fans are?

This is the kind of silliness I wish we didn't see. Each is entitled to their opinions. We do not need to be adversaries, and demand each other prove their opinions as a way of diminishing them. Every fan wants to win, so nobody is happy with losing or mediocrity, though there are some fans who will never understand that. It's even like a mantra to a few (not anyone here) and they seem to prefer to be unhappy and want to blame everyone else for their misery. Some of us want to remain supportive of the team, even though we are disappointed in the results. And even a few of us feel the current state is not entirely the fault of the coach, and feel he is still the best person to turn things around.

See NOW you got it!

That's all you really needed to say, though you could've got your point across just as well stopping after the first couple sentences...

But those two sentences...that's exactly what I think most of us have been trying to get at, unfortunately in much different and many different views.

There have been quite a few of us that have proclaimed that throughout the season, but I think a lot of it is out of frustration after a tough/bad loss. But in the end, we get back up, shake off the dust, and continue to follow the team no matter how bad it gets.

While I'm not "glad" that the season is almost over, I will be less stressed out about BU hoops (I know I put too much into it as it is, where I could be focusing on more important things in life).
I guess I'll be glad to be moving on, thinking about the prospects of BU hoops next season instead of dwelling on this past one.

Everyone on here wants BU to win period and are tired of hearing excuses about why they are not winning, if any of us did not care then we would not be on this board giving opinions on what needs to be done in order to accomplish our main goal which if for Bradley to start winning championships, we have invested a lot of time and money over the years and have not won 1 tour. championship since the tournament went to St.Louis , that is not acceptable for a team that gets the support that BU gets, if anyone on here is satisfied with 0 Valley Tour. championships in that time frame please let the rest of us know why this is satisfactory.

Frustration.....you are correct. We all want this to turn around.

Exactly...the first two sentences were dead on.....the rest was unneeded.
