7 MVC games Saturday, Dec. 7

The MVC is 4-1 so far today, and it was real close to being 5-0.
Bradley beat NC A&T easily 83-52. Bradley is now 6-3-

Evansville scored 56 points in the second half to pull away and beat Miami (OH). DeAndre Williams had 37 points. Evansville is now 7-3 -

Indiana State had a quality road win at Horizon League favorite Wright State 84-77. Indiana State, who were 0-4 to start the season, have now won 5 in a row and are 5-4 -

Loyola with an easy win over Division II Quincy 90-59. Loyola is now 6-4-

And SIU lead at Mississippi State inside the final minute, but then they made 3 turnovers leading to 4 free throws by Mississippi State who came from behind to win 72-69. SIU is now 4-6 -

Drake had all they could handle at home against South East Missouri State as they got down by 11 after the first 8:00, got their only lead of the half on FT's with 6:50 left then ended up being down 6 at the half. SEMO quickly got back up by 11 then Drake scored 9 straight to be down 52-50 with 14 1/2 left in the game. It took the next 6 minutes until Drake got their 2nd lead of the game with 8 1/2 left. The game was close the rest of the way. SEMO made a 3 with 2:10 left to put them up 73-72 but would not score the rest of the game as SEMO missed 5 shots and 2 FT's while Drake made 7 out of 10 FT's to win 78-73. Drake was 24-34 from the FT line while SEMO was just 13-23.
The ISU Redbirds never trailed in their game as they led wire to wire for a 61-50 win at home against Morehead State.
 
Thanks for the correction. It's still would have been a good thing to get a road win over a Conference USA team, even if it is Southern Miss (they were picked 14th out of 14 teams in the preseason CUSA poll). Unfortunately, SIU couldn't hold on and took a loss.

The MVC is now 58-37 overall, and 49-37 vs. Division I.
