Let me say there were many boos and lots of commotion to put Anthony Thompson in from the folks around me...

After that showing, I will stand by my statement in saying that I really could care less to see DC for quite awhile...

So yes, for Will's sake, our season, and our sanity, please don't let it be something bad....a knee sprain I can handle...

Get better Will...you're the best thing we've had in the middle in awhile!

There's no use in ripping David Collins. I am sure the guy is giving his all, he just isn't as talented or as athletic as we think he should be or we'd like him to be. If our worst fear are realized, then DC is going to have to help us. AT will hopefully get his chance to help, but it's gonna be a lot of DC and SS. Let's hope he can somehow discover something that we haven't seen yet. I'll be honest, when he missed that dunk I really felt bad for the kid. I think his body language shows a lot. I think right now we should be encouraging him and trying to stay positive with DC.

I would love to be able to encourage him and I know he is down, however, maybe you and I aren't seeing the same thing because I just don't see any hustle or the same effort everyone else is giving out on the floor...

Most of the time he was in, he seemed like a child w/ ADHD as his mind certainly was not in the game...

I'm like everyone else...I would love nothing better than to be cheering for everyone, but w/ him that isn't the case...there are always those guys that the light constantly goes on and off for, and unfortunately he seems to be one of them...

He can be an occasional offensive spark, but really nothing more...and he's a great kid don't get me wrong...he just isn't the type of player that is going to win us many games w/ his play...

I would love to be proved wrong, but he would have to do a number of things at this point to even get close to proving me wrong...


I just can be honest in saying that the stats speak for themselves...we have been a much better team since he lost his spot...plain and simple.

I think we see the same thing. I just don't know how much more he is really capable of. He is big and he is in shape. Beyond that, I don't know what he offers. I don't think he's as skilled or athletic as maybe we all believed he was. Let's be honest - If he was 6'8" he wouldn't be playing DI basketball anywhere. I think he is trying as hard as he can and giving his best. His best just probably isn't good enough to get the job done for us. For lack of a better term - It is what it is. I hate saying that. :|

Why were some of our guys out there when we had a 20+ point lead w/ 13 minutes to go?

Couldn't AT have gotten some time then?


I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to go ahead and play Lavin and Phillips, but AT is a different set of circumstances...

How is he going to grow as a player if we don't get him game time? That would've been the perfect situation to get his feet wet for about 6-8 minutes...

Certainly he couldn't have done worse than Collins defensively...

Coach Les certainly has a thicker skin than I do because after Collins missed the dunk, let a guy drive by him for a lay-up, and then let a 6'2" player go around him to get an offensive rebound, I probably would've put Singh back in or went to AT at that point...sometimes its just not your night, and unfortunately for him, it hasn't been his in quite awhile...the kid just has no intensity whatsoever...

I really don't know what we do w/ Will out for Michigan State...

You can't go w/ Collins...Singh I don't believe is athletic enough against them...Thompson isn't ready, which is their fault...the only other option is Taylor Brown, which would normally be a good option if he weren't 6'6" and our other inside player weren't 6'5"...

Will without a doubt changed the mentality of this team...and anyone who isn't buying into that knows how to PM me and discuss it...
 
Seems like he has gone back to playing soft as to not make a mistake....which in turn makes him play worse IMO...we have all seen better play out of DC....at times very good on the O' side but really never good on the D' side.....lets hope he can improve quickly as he will be needed with the absence of WE and SS cannot play a full game and fouls will be at a premium @ Michigan State...thats why I really wanted to get AT some PT just to give him some confidence...who knows, AT might be the next WE if given a shot!

Offensively a good game. It was really nice to see all those 3's and freethrows falling tonight. Defensively....yikes! We really need to tighten up that 2 - 3 zone. I think that the starting 5 is very solid both on D and offense, but we lose too much when we start subbing 2 or 3 at a time.
I agree about DC, his confidence is shot and right now he is just not getting it done. I just wonder how bad AT is in practice that he can't even sniff the floor in the middle of the game when we are up 20!:-o

I am fearing the worst but hoping for the best with WE! But my heart and my own experience with knee injuries tells me something else. Good win by BU tonight, lets keep it up and continue moving forward!

My biggest problem w/ him is not even necessarily losing his man, but that a 5'10" guy can shoot over him...why? Because he has his arms down at his sides....I can not for the life of me understand how they haven't fixed this...he should always have his arms out or up...not down at his sides...

If you're going to be 7 feet tall and do that you may as well be 5'9" because thats how you're guarding people.

I hate to say it and I don't want anyone to take offense, but maybe someone just needs to kick him in the pills on the way out of the locker room...

Gentle Giant comes to mind....

I'd rather have the guy hate everything that is human and wanna rip the locker doors off their hinges...

Could we send him to an anger dis-management class?
 
Strange how things go. Less than a week ago WE didn't seem to figure in BU's plans and was no doubt down on himself and upset that he was stuck on the bench. In that short period of time he got a chance and took advantage of it and now we realize how much we will miss him for as long as he is out. AT is probably feeling down, but he knows if he should be playing more or not. DC is no doubt feeling the same way. Lets hope both of them can turn things around.

Hhaha. I actually did shout something to that effect during the game.

Nothing here that hasn't already been posted, but--

Good game by the Braves. Defense was kind of bad at times in the 2nd half, but I think Coach was specifically trying to get minutes for some of his alternate lineups and players.

Egolf injury looked bad to me. I'm encouraged by his lack of swelling, but a bit discouraged by his walking around and not feeling anything, because that can be a case of a totally blown out ligament. They don't usually hurt if they're completely ruptured. I'm hoping for the best on his MRI. He was really playing well.

Amen brother...if one person "boo's" DC I swear I'm going to smack em upside the head with a wet carp. BU fans booed Reggie Hall and his focus and determination to play through it to the best of his ability made him a favorite oif mine. They also Booed JJ tuaii.....

Booing your own player. UNLESS its for lack of effort or something dumb like a cheap hard foul, is pointless.

I completely agree! I'm not sure how AT doesn't see the floor last night. Doesn't say much for our options if Will is going to miss any substantial amount of time.

Would a lack of effort include being 7' and unable to convert an uncontested dunk or letting guys go right by you on the other end of the floor. I used to give DC the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not so sure anymore. He immediately came in and showed why he hasn't been on the floor lately. I just wish he would show some aggression and realize the opportunities he is being given.
