A couple of observations about stats

Was playing around on realtimerpi.com and kenpom.com

One nice one--
Bradley's SOS is now #29 according to realtimerpi.com Should get up even higher after 3 games against MSU and UNI.

And, one totally weird one--
Kenpom.com has great team stats to look at if you click on the team detail. The weird thing, we have one of the worst opposing FT% in basketball... And we do EVERY year. The 06-07 is the only year in the last five that we were merely "average" in opposing FT%... Every other year we're "bad" at it. I can't figure just what that means, and can think of no rational reason for it to be true. The only logical thing I can figure is a freak side affect of who we've scheduled, but at the same time, I can remember so many games in which the other team had an absolutely awesome night at the charity stripe... A 60% FT shooting team hitting 85% and stuff like that. Anyone have any reasonable theories as to why we "give up" such a good opposed FT%?

Its not just at the line, seems every team has a career day v us especially from the 3pt arch. I guess we just do a great job of bring out the best shooting in teams.

My theory is Carver must have a good shooting back drop and is comfortable to shooters. Then again when you shoot into empty seats of fans sitting on their rears that also makes for a good shooting back drop.
 
That's the only thing I can figure... SOmething about the backdrop or something... But it certainly doesn't seem to help our guys who seem to shoot better on the road sometimes.

Just an interesting thing I also noticed... We're apparently a bit better than average defending the three this year (32.4% opp 3pt%, compared to a national average of 34.2%), but we're getting killed on 2 pt shots (51.2 against, ouch).
 
That's funny, because in the Molinari years Carver had the reputation of having really odd sightlines since it was also a hockey arena, which made it a real tough place for teams to shoot and score. I wonder how those sight lines got so much better...:eek:
 
I blame the Bush administration. Everything is their fault, and it's better to blame them then actually address and fix problems, right?
