BU HOF'er Hersey Hawkins started this season ranked #8 on the NCAA All-Time career scoring list with 3,008 career points from 1984-1988 at Bradley.
Two days ago, on Thursday (Feb. 21),Chris Clemons, a 5'9" senior guard from Campbell University (Big South Conference) passed Hersey, and he scored 41 more points today in a win against Longwood to increase his career total to 3,074 points. He has passed 2 more on the list and now ranks #6 all time, and Hersey is now 9th.

But today, Mike Daum, 6'9" senior forward for South Dakota State scored 25 points in SDSU's win over South Dakota, which gives him 3,006 points for his career. SDSU has one more regular season game next Saturday against Western Illinois, plus one or more games in the Summit League postseason tournament. He will almost certainly pass Hersey in his next game, and Hersey will drop to 10th on the career all-time scoring list
SDSU is currently leading the Summit League and is likely to be the favorite to repeat as the regular season and Summit League tournament champ.
