IMO, cheer for a Team Colorado blow out. It will validate we were beat by the best team, a team we threatened all the way to the end. Not unlike 1986, when we lost to the eventual champions, Louisville:(

I believe the Braves gave Louisville their closest game in the tournament. That was a trip to Ogden I'll never forget.

Not true. Bradley gave them a closer game than #3 seed North Carolina gave them. However, Louisville had closer games.

beat #15 Drexel by 20
beat #7 Bradley by 14
beat #3 UNC by 15
beat #8 by Auburn 8
beat #11 LSU by 11
beat #1 Duke by 3

but in some sense it was perhaps Louisville's tightest game all the way to the title game- with Louisville never being able to forge more than a 5 pts lead until the final 5-6 minutes

If anyone is interested, the championship game of The Basketball Tournament is tonight between Team Colorado and Overseas Elite.
It will be on ESPN at 7 PM Eastern (6 PM Central).

Next year

Any idea if since we made the final 4 we get the automatic invite to be in the tournament again next year?

That was the rule this year- and I suspect it will be in effect next year, but I haven't seen any rules for 2017 posted yet -
but I doubt there's a high likelihood they would drop this rule - have you heard anything?

Here's the page telling the basic tournament rules for 2016...
and it includes this statement...

"Number of Teams:
Up to 64 teams, including the final four teams of 2015"

"The defending champion from each region gets an automatic bid.

http://thetournament.com/about

Also
"HOW TEAMS GOT IN
Teams gained entry .... by being a regional champion the previous year"

https://www.thetournament.com/news/what-tbt-2016

But, even if we get in automatically, getting the fans to vote is still important for at least two reasons...
-first - the fans can collect on the winnings if they get sufficient points from the votes
-second, the ability to add extra players as the tournament proceeds hinges on getting a sufficient number of votes

It would be great if they did keep this rule. With the success and national exposure of the tournament overall, and especially with the success that a lot of "alumni teams" from major universities had, I suspect there will a lot more entries next year, especially from "alumni teams" of other major schools.
The alumni teams from schools like Kansas State, Kentucky, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Marquette, Memphis, VCU, Pitt, LaSalle, and Villanova all had more votes than the Bradley alumni, so it could be a lot harder to get into next years' tournament.

have seen comments on multiple other schools' message boards - ISU, Illini, etc - that the fans want to see their guys get in the The Tournament next year

Team Colorado had a double digit lead, but now with 13 minutes left in the game, it has gotten close.
The score is Team Colorado 49 Overseas Elite 47

Overseas Elite trailed nearly the entire game to Team Colorado, but they pulled ahead inside the last couple minutes, and held on for their 2nd consecutive TBT championship.
Final score:
Team Colorado 72
Overseas Elite 77
