Agree. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, I believe that MR is happy at IU. Nothing against MR, but I want a Mike Williams type big player!!!! I believe that we have enough shooters on this team for the next couple of years.
I just would like to see Matt is a situation where his talent is appreciated and where he's used as a shooter, something he obviously does quite well, but at IU he will virtually never get any playing time.
BTW- to show how fickle some of the IU fans are...
just 12 hours ago they were still talking about 20 or more wins this season, and a great chance at an NCAA bid...
NOW- after a really bad loss - many of their posts are saying things like...
-"***** **** is the worst IU basketball player I have EVER seen. There is no reason why he should be on the court for over more than 2 minutes per game."
"Why would he (Crean) be attempting to "develop" ****? he's a senior"
"im seeing is a guy who cant play basketball a lick." http://indiana.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=731&tid=135442310&mid=135442310&sid=942&style=2
---then specifically about Matt Roth and others-- a long time poster rips into several players... "(regarding Pritchard).. Crean did not recruit him or Roth.
Two of our slowest, least athletic players. Neither
would be on the team if Crean has been running the
program at the time they were being recruited.
Matt Roth: Great range, sometimes. Can't do
anything else, period. Nothing. Can't dribble, can't
pass, can't rebound and can't play defense
Tijan Jobe: Tijan has played in 25 games as a
Hoosier for a total of 124 minutes. In that time he
has 19 rebounds. If you took that average and
played it out over a full 40 minutes, our 7 foot,
athletic center would average 6 rebounds a game.
He also has 2 blocks in his career at IU. 2. Tijan,
while he tries hard is absolutely pathetic as a
basketball player. He is probably a great kid who has
a ton of heart, but he is an atrocious basketball
player."
it's actually kind of disgusting reading all their negativity....and I thought BU had some negative nellies!!!
IU officially reports on Matt's fracture...sounds little like what Andrew Warren had - a fracture of his right 5th metatarsal, and it took Andrew 1.5 years and 2 surgeries to recover. http://blogs.heraldtimesonline.com/iusp/?p=5826
