Isn't this what happened when Jim was hired?

KW gave his opinion... how can any of us say that he shouldn't? And I disagree that his intent or aim is to harm Bradley's recruiting... He may dislike JL- but let's not get carried away...

And to whomever it was that said KW loves this- you are right... We are on page 5 on another message board, talking about his blogs and articles from the Peoria Journal Star....

Playing with only 7 guys - almost impossible.
Throw in AT and MK for a few minutes each game, and it could happen.
But everyone needs to contribute, and our defensive intensity and schemes need to be great, which I don't see happening. We just played one full half that was absolutely horrible to a team that was lacking offensive firepower.
Missouri St. & Wichita St. will have their way with us down low.
I can see possibly winning 2 games in St. Louis, and that's with our best game. Beyond that...not gonna' happen unless there are some unforeseen upsets.

Don't be so naive and say he is just writing an opinion piece. He knew exactly what he was doing. He owes Bradley fans and Coach Les a huge apology. Irresponsible and unethical.

WHere in the "creed" does it say anything about being only complimentary and kind to teh local university? And do you honestly think that his superiors would let him get away with lies and deceit against the local university?

Come on people, let's get real here... Some folks here don't like KW, KW may not like JL... so what....

It's kinda' funny that we're talking about the possibility (though very slim) of winning the Valley tournament when our immediate goal is to NOT finish last in the Valley and avoid a 20-game losing season.

I don't think it is unusual for a reasonably successful coach to be fired for losing too much to a rival.
 
KW wrote that one sentence tells me he definitely knows whats going on.

Look at the game notes. JL is 18 games under .500 in January. Almost all of those are league games.. Thats a .393 percentage in the first month of league play.

Thats why many of us think its time to rebuild. Because we have no confidence it will change.

Murph- facts are able to be proven or substantiated. What KW stated is definitely not a fact. But you are welcome to dream. :)

Had KW cited a source to back his statement, then I wouldn't be debating on this thread. The fact that he made that statement and has not cited a source is irresponsible and unethical.

He doesn't need to cite anything when he states something like:

"reminded us...likely" when that fits public opinion or belief

or when he states something like:

"I’m also sure I am right about this: The unofficial countdown to the end of Jim Les‘s career as head coach has begun. It’s important to emphasize, nothing is set in stone. "

He is confident in his belief, based on information that he has available, which may or may not be on record. And some of the warning signs he may be basing his belief off of anyone should be able to see, if they so choose.

It may be a reporters job if indicating something is a fact to cite sources, but an editor or columnist is not required to do that when they aren't claiming something is a fact...KW is so far removed from doing that in both instances to suggest otherwise is well...I'm not going to be banned over something this dumb.

I don't understand why KW wants the program to fail when he is an alum if Bradley, grew up cheering for Bradley, and gets to travel with the team if it were to go to the Dance.

I mean, if it were me, I'd personally want the team to do great because watching a "Cinderella" run to the sweet 16 is incredibly fun and probably a career highlight for a man who gets to help cover the team.

Maybe he thinks JL isn't the man to get us there again? Maybe he's heard things?

I don't think he has some underhanded anti-bu agenda.

lets say its dr. Cross.

He cant say Dr. cross said JL is out.
 
A lot of posts since I was last on. I realize that KW is not writing fact pieces ... he hasn't for years :)

But, just like freedom of speech doesn't give you the right to yell "fire" in a packed movie theater, KW if he has any pride in his craft, should not write,

unless he has been told as much by a reliable source connected to the university.

KW clearly indicates that he has learned that JL's days are numbered ... what is in question is if the number of days are less than 20.

KW supporters can spin it all they like, but if JL is not out of here this year, then KW should be fired if the PJS has an iota of journalistic integrity. He is a hack journalist and the people of Peoria and the Bradley nation deserve someone who doesn't take his position of responsibility as the PJS Sports Editor to write rumor and innuendo pieces.
