Game 2 at the half has ISU Blue leading Valpo 37-28. The Sycamores are shooting 16-29 overall, 4-10 from 3 while Valpo is shooting 11-29 overall, 5-12 from 3.

Indiana State has lead almost the entire game by as much as 12 points, but Valpo has stayed within striking distance.

The whistles seem to be strongly favoring Valparaiso in this game. Indiana State has attempted 1 free throw in the game (1-1) with a little over 5 minutes left. Valparaiso has been to the line 16 times (8-16). Foul calls are InSU 15, Valpo 9, and most of the calls on the Sycamores have been shooting fouls. Valpo, who have shot poorly in the game, is now driving on every possession, banging and getting the benefit of the foul calls.

Indiana State went cold and did not score in the final 4:34 of the game, allowing Valpo to come back and take a 1 point lead 63-62 with 1:17 left. Indiana State squandered a couple chances but could not score again, and Valparaiso wins 63-62, and advances to play Bradley at 6:00 pm Friday.

Valpo, by the skin of their teeth, came from 10 down in the second half to beat ISU Blue 63-62. Valpo led 3-2 then didn’t lead again until making a FT with 1:12 to play. The Sycamores went scoreless for about the last 4:00 of the game. Valpo moves on to play BU at 6;00 tomorrow. Just hope we have our shooting shoes on

UNI led as much as by 12 with 9;00 to go in the first half but a 3 at the buzzer by AJ Casey has Evansville in the lead 36-35.

I’m going to complain about something unusual, the scorebug. Why is it so large?

Some quick analysis determines that it takes up roughly 15% of the screen pixels!

Someone recently did some of their own analysis around screen real estate used during different football events here. While some networks do take up a lot of screen space during events with score bugs + other things like tickers, the scorebug itself never takes up more than 7% typically.
So why is the MVC’s so damn large?

Belmont vs Drake in Game1 of Quaterfinal Friday. During the season Belmont won by 1 at Drake and by 13 at home. Frankly Drake will have to play one of their best games of the year to win but it’s March so you never know

Already, just 12 minutes into the game, it looks to me like a disparity on how the fouls are being called. Drake has been called for 7 fouls, Belmont just 1. Jalen Quinn has been body-slammed a couple times with no call, and the Belmont players get a call if anyone on Drake touches them.

Lundblade getting exposed on National TV for his weak defense

Will the foul differential continue in the 2nd half?

Defense was optional in the first half as both teams were lighting it up. Drake leads 48-41 behind shooting 18-29 overall, 8-16 from 3. Belmont shot it pretty well too as they were 14-28 overall, 8-19 from 3.

I'd say Belmont is shooting themselves in the foot, but they aren't accurately shooting anything this half!

Belmont's Jack Smiley (0-5, scoreless) showing why he should have never been on the All Freshman Team and
Montana Wheeler should have been instead...and Lundblade....?

and of course the announcer is WRONG... a #9 seed have NEVER knocked off a #1 seed before in the MVC Tourney.
He said it happened in 2020, but Drake was a #8 seed then, knocking off #1 UNI

update... they corrected themselves on air several minutes later

Belmont is struggling to shoot it this half as they are just 2-9 from 3. Drake is taking it to them on the other end up 16 with 7:00 to go
