I'm kind of PO'd that Sammy left, and I feel as if he bailed on his teammates, but he conducted himself with nothing but class while a Brave. He laid it on the line every night, was a team leader, conducted himself well in the classroom and community, and I think still deserves our respect. I wish he had stayed because he could have been referred to as one of the "great ones" in Bradley Basketball history.
I wish him the best and will still be interested to see how he performs for "the enemy". As always, the thread has a title so if you're not interested in it don't waste your time reading or commenting on it.
I don't mind the article so much. I was skeptical that Sam would be able to play and now I'm more so. If he finishes the season I will be surprised
I agree, except I don't consider a team not in the MVC the enemy.
How about recruiting wars and a lack of respect from their arrogant fan base!![]()

Most of today's fan base don't remember when Bradley BB was in it's heyday. I do. You have to admit they have been more successful since those days than the Braves besides playing in a more known conference. As for recruiting, that's part of the game.
You're right Chico but in my business anyone who you compete with on any part of your business is the ENEMY. Illinois is the 800 lb gorilla and we need to treat them as such.

he also graduated from Bradley then wanted to pursue a post-grad curriculum that BU did not have - all according to NCAA rules...so in effect he put his academics ahead of athletics.Honest question, do you treat any employee who leaves your company as an enemy? I personally don't, as I've left companies before, and my former co-workers don't wish me ill.

interesting that you hurl this at anyone you disagree with..
"Don't manufacture a story that doesn't exist. .."
yet that's precisely what you do -- you cannot know what was going thru Sammy's mind so you just presume something and go with it..
then - you appear to refute what is obviously true...
"SM left Bradley just to pursue a course not avaliable at Bradley"
Whether you like it or not, what I said is 100% true..
-Fact- Sammy did graduate
-Fact- Sammy did choose a curriculum and course of study for post-grad that is not available at Bradley
-and Fact - were the above two facts not true he would not have been allowed eligibility at U of I
