Attendance

I don't know what our attendance was tonight, but it looked like a pretty good crowd. And kudos to the crowd for getting into the game and giving our team energy. We need this from the fans EVERY game. I think we will get a few wins along the way if we put forth the effort the team and the crowd did tonight.

Nice crowd tonight...it also helps to have a Sat. night game once in a while to get a bigger crowd!

And against a top 25 team! If we can't always get a ranked BCS team to come into our arena every year (though we have Michigan coming in next year), hopefully our conference continues to do well enough to produce a top 25 team or two each year.

8,600 is a healthy amount for about half the schools in the country but an opponent of this magnitude would of normally racked up at least 10,000 fans a few seasons ago. Still rolling with our average of 1,500 to 2,000 less a game.

A few of those fans almost didn't make it home tonight. Some dumba*s in a red mustang went the wrong way on Jefferson for a block and nearly hit a car head on. The other car had to swerve out of the way.

They were only Top 25 in the USA Today poll, they were dropped from the AP Poll either today or yesterday. Still a darn good team, one win will knock a good Valley team from the top 25 unfortunately. My other team, Notre Dame upset No. 10 Louisville today, so combined with a VERY exciting game to send me off until the ISU game, I had a great day!

crowd tonight 8610
Nice crowd - but we gotta get winning if we expect really good crowds...
The last time we played Creighton at home on a Saturday night we drew 10767 and the average of the past 3 Creighton home games even tho two of them were on a week night was well over 9300

Nothing is going to change the attendance trend this year, but you can keep beating that dead horse if you like. I appreciate the athletic department's efforts with promotions like 50% of upper bowl tickets and free kids tickets with purchase of an adult ticket. They're trying to get folks in the building while the product isn't quite good enough to get the job done.

Albeit another loss, I was certainly entertained last night.

Attendance after the first 3 conference games last year was 24,284 and 28,482 the year before that.

After 2 conference games this season, we're sitting at 14,788.

Attendance is now up to 23,398 (7,799/game) after 3 conference games! That's only off 3.6% from last season!

Let's pack the place these next two weekend games before the three Wednesday games coming up in March.

I don't know....I believe at least being competitive in home games will help this year. That should at the very least give people hope for the future! I hadn't heard about those promotions, but that's good to know and they certainly do deserve acknowledgment for doing what they can to sell more tickets.

I was quite entertained last night by a game that was far more competitive than I thought it would be. After the first 2 home games, I honestly would have been ok with a 20-point loss if the team were playing hard for 40 minutes. Apparently, we have some D-1 players on this team that can play within 10 points of a top 25 team, but can barely stay within 40 points of other teams. That's the most frustrating part. I just hope to see more consistency between now and the end of the season!

As long as the team plays well the crowd will give them the support, nice to finally see the crowd up and cheering last night as it makes the atmosphere so much better.

Great Crowd! Great Game! It was the turning point i was looking for except without the W but i feel better than I have now lets beat Drake!
