Austin

I am officially joining the skeptics club on Austin, hoping that I'll be proven wrong pronto.

I'm no D-I scholarship athlete, but even I was at BU 9 days before the start of classes.

If he's not at BU tomorrow, he's not going to be at BU at all. Nor should he be. If I were JL I'd tell him to cancel his ticket after tonight.

I wish I knew the reason he has not been here after he finished classes.......you'd like to think it nothing but how about a little time getting used to your school and new team-mates? :? I was really excited when RA signed to come here.....but I wonder if we are getting all the facts right now? :-o

You would think under "normal" circumstances he would be here. But, personal events arise all the time. I don't have any inside knowledge, but it wouldn't be unusual that a person might have some family matters, or other things that are none of our business, to attend to before starting the Fall session.

If he was AWOL, I wouldn't see any advantage to JL giving him an ultimatum? The start of the school session will provide that. Whether RA is here or not here will be known soon enough - either way, the program is strong enough to deal with it.

We need Austin on this team if we want to win the MVC. With things up in the air with Salley dont kid yourself into thinking we will be fine without Austin. I am still hopeing there are reasons for him not being here and that he will show up soon.

If he is as good as he is supposed to be, we need him bad. Salley proved last year that he is not the answer. I wouldn't be depending too much on him.

Agreed MexicoBUF! We need Austin or Salley or this will be a tough season. Salley would be sufficient, but Austin may be the answer to an MVC Championship.

Stay safe and dry down there MexicoBUF 8)

Thanks Braves4life, I live outside Mexico City so I will be fine. I am more worried about the employees I have over on the southwest coast of Mexico.

Mex

Given that all of the other players are here this probably isn't it, but what if he doesn't have a place to live yet? Dorms don't open til next weekend and I would assume there might be some other places where students can't move in yet for whatever reason. Where are the incoming freshmen living while lifting and working out with the team all summer? That being said there could be a million reasons why he's not here but I still think there is a 95% chance he's here come the 29th.

Optimist!

Optimist!

Orientation begins this thurs, ending sat! Classes start next week and there is school on the holiday! He'll be here!

Orientation - Schmorientation.

I am sure hoops players (can) have their own orientation.

Rashad could show up the 2nd week of classes and possibly still be ok (academically) - his academic advisor could snag all his syllabi.

C'mon... let's w-a-i-t til we hear something.

Sat for lunch with an insider yesterday and asked about Austin. He said he will be here and it was important for him to go home after classes and before heading to Peoria.

Also, he said Sam reminds him of a young Jim Les and we should expect big things out of him sooner rather than later. He said he is another one of t hose kids whose motor is always stuck in high gear.

He also said Egolf reminds him of a Dallas Mavarik named Dirk.....

Great news for our future!

FWIW...I talked to an insider last Thursday and was told basically the same thing. I was told "don't worry, RA will be here". My source was also very impressed with Mr. Egolf's talent. Let's hope everything falls into place and we don't have anymore "surprises" this season.

GO BRAVES!

I've seen Sam play a few times, and I would agree with the JL comparison except for one thing...in high school, Jim couldn't shoot and score like Sam can! Everything else is very accurate though. There will never be a lack of effort on his part.

As stated several weeks ago, Austin is going to the out of state orientation, which is always the last few days leading into move-in weekend (th-sat). He's probably packing his bags as you're reading this.

Stop worrying guys.

Thank you, squirrel...
everything I have heard from several sources says he is going to be on campus soon and in plenty of time to start classes.
Plus there is no plausible reason he would not come as he cannot be recruited elsewhere.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I believe it's in his best interest, as well as BU's, that he shows up! I look forward to seeing him contribute to a great season!

I am guessing Austin will arrive in Peoria on thursday and then everyone can relax and quit worrying about himshowing up but worry more about him being as good as advertised.
