Auto bids

Out of the Conference USA, #4 seed 25-9 (10-6) Memphis over #2 seed 25-9 (11-5) UTEP in a 1 point thriller.

This might burst a bubble or 2.

Ahhh yes, the more things change, they more they stay the same! :D

With all the talk of down years by Gonzaga, Butler and Memphis, here they all are in the tournament again! The only mid-major of note not going back this year is Northern Iowa.

Oh the agony, 25-6 Princeton takes the Ivy League by 1 point over Harvard on a last second jumper. Both teams were goin back and forth the last minute.

Harvard will have to wait another year to get to the Tourney for 1st time in 65 years.

and out of the Southland, the #7 seed, yes the #7 seed 19-13 (9-7) Texas-San Antonio wins by 3 points over #1 seed 21-11 (11-5) McNeese State.

out of the MAC, once again a high #6 seed 23-12 (9-7) Akron beats #1 seed 23-11 (12-4) Kent State by 1 point in an overtime thriller.

The teams got in a little scuffle at mid court as the Akron players trampled over a couple Kent State players as they were rushing the court to celebrate. No punches thrown or anything, just a lot of pushing and tempers flaring.

out of the Pac 10, #3 seed 23-10 (11-7) Washington beats #1 seed 27-7 (14-4) Arizona by 2 points on a fade away jumper at the 3 point line in another thriller overtime game.

Washington was down by 4 with 30 seconds left in regulation, they made 3 straight 3's to send it to OT.

getting a little ridiculous now LOL, out of the Big West, #7 seed 18-13 (8-8) UC-Santa Barbara beats #1 seed 22-11 (14-2) Long Beach St by 8 points.

out of the Big East, #9 seed 26-9 (9-9) Connecticut beats #3 seed 25-9 (12-6) Louisville by 3 points.

Louisville got fouled on a 3 point attempt with 4 seconds left but missed a Free Throw. UConn made 2 more FT's but Louisville barely missed the tying 3 point attempt at the buzzer.

UConn won an amazing 5 games in 5 days. The last 3 games were within 5 points. Last 4 wins were over #22 Georgetown, #3 Pitt, #11 Syracuse, and #14 Louisville. Watch out for them in the big dance.

What a nutty game that was! Made all the more raucous by Gus Johnson's call!

out of the Big 10, #1 overall seed 32-2 (16-2) Ohio State beats #6 seed 19-14 (9-9) Penn State by 11 points.
