Bradley record- 8-33
Bradley has given up 451 runs in 41 games, 11 runs per game, Team ERA-10.35
They need a good pitching coach....just a few years back (2016) they were strong in pitching with a team ERA of 3.51,
... (pun intended since Brent Strong was one of their pitchers)
Larry Scully was their pitching coach - and I met him and got to know him. Great guy - Bradley should have never let him get away.

Larry is a good coach, doing well at Miami U. after a great run at Ball State.

We're very short of pitching, not coaching.

Recruiting is going very well. More pitching commitments this week, according to social media.

Fundraising is going better than any Bradley non-basketball team ever.

We'll be better in 27, and better still in 28.

And it's good to see morale high, the boys keeping their heads in the game. Several subs started. Good morale even in a midweek game where they know we don't have enough pitchers. Cirelli showed a lot of toughness yesterday against Northwestern.

And yesterday we had 19 baserunners to 16 for Northwestern. Didn't get them in, but the Braves were competitive.

.....
In a way, I hear ya - but back in 2016-17 Bradley didn't have whopping pitching talent - in fact, only 2 of the pitchers got sniffs
from the pros, and neither advanced past Double A. So I respectfully contend that good coaching, good strategy, development and
smart situational baseball can do a lot with moderate talent. But, admittedly I am not a college pitching expert...but I did coach
one kid in pony league that pitched in the majors ;) (and another kid on the same team played in the NFL!)

I heard the previous Coach did very little recruiting and not much coaching. It takes a awhile to catch up with that.

It definitely takes time. I know all of us fans of Braves Baseball (not the biggest fan base at Bradley, but a stalwart group) want the program to turn around on a dime. The Braves won only 16 games in 2023 (.320), 13 in 2024 (.255), and 16 in 2025 (.333). After the veteran coach Elvis retired, nearly everyone on the roster with playing time left. Then after a national search a new coaching staff had a few weeks to get together the best roster they could from junior colleges, community colleges, the few players still available in the transfer portal, and the few returning players and recruits. Not easy when a team hasn't had a winning record in the past six years. (Recruiting had slowed. I don't see that Bradley announced a recruiting class in 2024 or 2025.) But all that is just how it goes in the portal era when a coach leaves a losing program. This 2026 team is on track to win about 11 games (.200).

But the players are developing, fighting for roster spots, knowing that a full 2026 recruiting class and transfers are on the way in the fall. Several of the hitters have been outstanding. Recruiting and fundraising are as important now as results, and those have been very encouraging. The experience of the coaches, the beautiful ballpark at Dozer, these are assets that will attract recruits and transfers. And the style of play has been exciting as promised. The enthusiasm of the coaches, players, alumni, and administration has been remarkable. In an era when the scholarship limits have been raised, every little bit of money raised helps bring in better pitching and hitting and defense. Wins will follow.

I wear my old Bradley shirts proudly as an old fan on game days, realizing that it will take a little time to restore Bradley to success in baseball.
