And I watched a lot of those millionaires as they aspired to get where they are today. Now I'd rather watch the kids who are aspiring today. That's why I said "maybe it's just me."

Snow, injuries, Bears, talent, coaching? It's just my opinion but over the past 3 seasons (including the 1st 10 games of this season) we don't seem to be any better or worse - with or without injured players - Egolf, Warren, Dunson, Maniscalco, Brown, Sims-Edwards. Team may be getting a bit tired because of increased minutes per player but the play seems about the same to me! Evidently our talent pool is fairly level across the top 10 players so I expect us to be about the same as past 2 seasons and finish somewhere between 4-7 in the league. And we in Peoria are blessed to have the school, the program and the facilities we have, so go to the games, support the team and enjoy yourself - it's still a lot better than driving to Urbana or watching D1 games on TV at home! And as to the coach, I doubt there are any quick fixes available on the open market for the price BU's paying - so unless JL has a complete breakdown let's let him do his job, live his life and enjoy his teamsand his alma mater!

I will be at my first game of the year tomorrow night since I am home for Christmas. Hopefully there are more people in the seats because the opponent will be slightly better than Jackson State. Free food giveaways have worked wonders for every other sports program in this town. Couldnt the marketing department team up with all the sponsors, have them each throw in some $$ to get an all you can eat type thing, even just one or 2 sections with wristbands for the all you can eat, or even free hot dog, bag of chips, and soda for every person? I know its a gimmick, but to get as many people in the stands as there used to be nowadays you almost have to have a gimmick. The only thing other than a gimmick that will put butts in the seats is a winning program. But even that doesnt work. I know this is a bad example, but look at the Rivermen, they are 20-8-2-1, thats 20 wins against 11 total losses and they can barely get 4000 in the building, but they sold out for free food night in less than a week.

For me, watching an event live trumps watching a game on TV. I can always time shift the event on TV and watch afterwards. If I get real creative, I can try and avoid finding out the outcome before I can watch the recording.
Sometimes I think the folks at the PCC do a disservice by announcing updates to games many are probably taping and trying to avoid finding out about before they get a chance to watch live.
Fans desperate to know what is going on in other sporting events while watching BU games at the PCC can always bring a radio to the PCC and keep track that way.

I realize that it sounds like that, but thats how today's society is unfortunately. Im just throwing out ideas that have been proven to work for other teams.
Agreed, if I had DVRd DA BEARS (ahem NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS ahem) and been at the game, I wouldn't have wanted the updates unless they were showing me the highlights on the big Screen! Though, of course, after a 20 point lead, I may have found myself wandering over to those very nice suite thingies across from the concessions....
On the radio thing, heck, if you bring one, listen to Dave and Danny!! I know a guy that goes to every Notre Dame football home game, but brings the radio to listen to what he's seeing! Commendable! I <3 AM radio!
