Bilie Gillispie's awkward halftime interview with ESPN reporter

The halftime interview has become a common segment of college basketball TV coverage. But Head CoachBilly Gillispie made news the last time ESPN televised a Kentucky game by telling ESPN sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards that she asked a "bad question".

So least night Edwards was assigned to work the Kentucky game again Tuesday night, and she cornered Gillispie again for a quick halftime interview. It's obvious Gillispie still doesn't like Edwards--

Here was the first halftime interview by Edwards from a couple weeks ago--

I know they like to interview coaches coming off the floor at the half but sometimes it's kind of unfair to the coach. They are out there under an extreme amount of pressure trying to win games and a reporter is in their face before a game is over. Let's face it some reporters do ask some very stupid questions.
I didn't think the question regarding Meeks was bad though.
In Gillespie's defense he did apologize to her after the first interview

I thought he had a stroke, the way he acted

The story is Edwards and Gillespie are actually fairly close---and both share a love for horse racing. Who knows?

I don't like the halftime interview thing but there is no reason the coaches need to be jerks about it. I think Jim Les handles himself very well everytime I see him do one of these.

I believe all coaches agree to do it, and I also believe, IIRC, that the coach that is leading at half goes first, and the losing coach goes second. That way, the losing coach has a chance to calm down instead of being put in a position to say something stupid. Is that correct? Does anyone know?

Watching these videos, the coach ends up looking like an *****.

99% of interview questions in general are absurd. And everyone asks the same things. I would be against these stupid questions if I were a coach (or player), and I can understand their frustration over having to deal with this at halftime or any other point in the game (like in NBA games, when they talk to them multiple times sometimes).

I've got two things to say about all this....

1) I'm beginning to really like Billie.

2) Jeannine Edwards is HOT!

1) I NEVER could stand Billie, and
2) Edwards does NOTHING for me.................. Erin Andrews, on the other hand....

No, no... you're right. ;)

I don't really like Billie, but I'm only starting to a little.... makes me chuckle seeing him getting a little ticked about the questions. And I was trying to be funny and say Edwards was hot. She's not. Now Lisa Guerrero? Ow... wowow.

Way to many talking heads, everywhere in, all sports. I can read, I can think, I can see. I do not need some ex jock ,or sideline babe, telling me what I am going to see, am seeing, or just saw. Pre game, during game, post game. TMI.
Just do the d*** game!8)

Indeed!! They are trying to get us "closer to the game", in the players' heads, but asking them pointless questions or pointing out useless information doesn't really work.

Here is a funny followup to the "feud" between Billy Gillispie and ESPN sideline interviewer Jeannine Edwards.
Someone (I think he's a Kentucky fan) has written and recorded a parody song to the tune of the John Mellencamp song (A Little Ditty About) "Jack & Diane".--
