Billy "ACC" Packer

I do not believe what Silly Billy Packer just said on the Iowa-Buckeye game.
Jim Nance made reference to the fact the Valley may get more teams than the ACC
Silly Billys reply: "Changes need to be made. A conferences last 5 years performance needs to be taken into consideration,
when making selections."
Honest to God, this pithy little man said that.
Personally, I would like to get Packer, Digger, and Bilas in a room and just slap em'.

What in the world does what you did last year or the last 5 years as a conference do? It means nothing...... I thought it only counts what your doing now!

Bilas is defintley better than Digger and Billy Packer. Bilas actually somewhat defends the Valley and if he doesn't at least he provides facts why. Digger is just simply loves the majors and knows little to none about NCAA basketball. I'd say spare Bilas and Packer.

And what you did this season against the top teams is counted. That should be worth infinitely more than what you did in the past 5 years. Especially since the games the MVC gets in the NCAA tournament are seeded so that they don't ever get any easy games like the big boys do.

In essence all this means is the "BIG BOYS" do not want to share any of the major $$$$$$'s that they are used to getting! They cannot stand the fact that a smaller market team and conf. can get into their pockets.......

They can wine and gripe all they want to this year because there will be a lot of teams in this year to steal some of their thunder!.........The BIG VALLEY has arrived!

ACC doesnt deserve more than 4 IMO. Duke, UNC, BC, and NC State. Florida State getting in would be a joke of jokes. IDC if they did beat Duke. Duke was horrible that week.

Digger is on ESPN ragging on Bradley because of the first 10 minutes of the second half last Sunday. He admits he doesn't watch any of the MVC games, then makes his judgement on one 10 minutes stretch when Bradley played poorly.

Does he realize just how dumb he sounds?

To his credit, Bilas did take Digger to task for that ridiculous
comment about one 10 minute stretch.
And he pointed out how several of the tournament week games were that way, and that many of ther Big Ten games had low scores and dry spells.

I have to watch the Bracketology on the one of many repeats on ESPN U later tonight. Good to see that Bilas and others have put this guy in his place, though I'm sure it won't stop him.

But HOW DARE Packer and Nantz say what they said about the Valley! They act like any team outside the "Big Six" conferences doesn't even deserve to be in the tournament! Here's a clue to the two of you: "THE VALLEY EARNED FOUR BIDS BECAUSE THEY BEAT QUALITY TEAMS WITHIN THEIR OWN CONFERENCE!!!"

Maybe that will give them a clue! :D

Billy packer revealed himself to be a complete idiot today with his suggestion of making current year slections based on what a team has done over the last 5 years. The game has truly passed him by. CBS should be embarrassed that this old, worn-out fool is on their team. I'm sorry to be so personal, but Billy entered into a whole new realm of inane blatherings today.

I hope that "Silly" Billy Packer and Digger "Smell Your
Finger" Phelps are happy now that the NCAA selection
committee has found a way around the RPI ratings.
The very RPI ratings that were installed with the main
incentive to provide more firepower for the committee
to choose the elite schools and league members as
the at-large births and leave the mid-majors out. Now
that some of the mid-major schools and leagues have
cracked the code of the RPI ratings, the committee
seems to have found a way to ignore them. It's a
shame because there is no reason for the "bigs" to
schedule the little guys. This ignorance will further
seperate the mid-majors from the big boys. Too bad
for the good teams left behind. Get used to it!
At least the two idiots will be happy!

the committee has never pretended to solely use the RPI

It is "one" of the tools that is used to select at-large
births. I believe that teams and leagues were with the
understanding that the RPI would have more impact
on the selections. Obviously that was not the case
this year.

Not in Kansas anymore!

This 5 year history notion would have better legs if Florida State had been part of any of the ACC success in the tournament during this time period.

If the same resume that FSU brought to the table would have had Maryland or Wake Forest at the top of it, it probably would have had a better chance of qualifying.

I hope so!
