Black out impressions...

I love the black out. Looks great on TV and should help to fire up the crowd. If we win the game I think we should keep it going at home until we lose.

Blackout seemed strange overall to me. The uniforms looked pretty slick though. Maybe use them for some road uni's. Also, the color out worked much better this time around since they put the shirts on the seats.

Pain in the butt to put those on the chairs but worth it. Blackout worked a lot better than the whiteout, too bad we couldn't get the W though. About the uni's, I really liked them. The black looks really good and one of the student managers was telling me that they hope to bring them with to St. Louis because they might get stuck being the road team two games in a row so one game they might wear red and the other they might wear black.

Interesting. Hopefully, they atleast raffle them off, or something to that effect. Seems like a waste, for one game..

I loved the blackout, and think it is a good idea to do once a year first of all. I LOVED the black uniforms! I read the article about them, and it does not sound like they will wear them again, but I think they should. Why not keep black jerseys as an alternate jersey for good now? A lot of teams have an alternate jerseys. I don't buy the black is not our school color thing. Black can be anyone's color just like white. Besides Notre Dame has like 4 different color jerseys, one being black, and that isn't there color. They are gold and navy blue, yet they have black, green, white, and blue jerseys. I say keep em for good!

As far as deciding to auction them, unless they are auctioning different ones, can they auction ones with names on the back for college athletes?? I would definitely want one though if they did.

Here is the article about them:

If the players liked them, I say keep them. It's been over a decade since I've graduated, so I don't have a clue what college kids like. I thought they looked good.

I thought it was a cool idea at first and got excited about it. But then after 2nd, 3rd and 4th thoughts (I think too much, it's a curse) - we ask our biggest rival to wear their home uniforms in our place  Uniforms that they win in  On 5th thought, it should have been a red out with us wearing white and ISU should have been wearing their road uniforms that they lose in. I hope we don't ask another team ever again to come into our place wearing their home uniforms. If you think about it 2, 3, 4, times - it had to pump up the ISU players.

The fact Bradley tried to keep it a "secret" and a "surprise" to ISU that it was a black-out is just strange to me. Why?

Your presumption is errorneous-
It was not kept secret from ISU or the MVC. They needed and got the MVC approval, and the approval of ISU, who agreed, well in advance, to wear their white uniforms.

From the paper it sounds like they are not being used again...ever

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I say good riddance. Black uniforms were really cutting edge.....in the early 90's. But I guess nobody ever accused Peoria fashion of being ahead of the times.

If you hadn't noticed...every team in the 1990's has a black variation of their uniform. And almost all of them are gone.

I guess we learned one thing last night. Once you go black...you CAN go back.
