Black Out vs. isu

I agree with this. --especially for the ISU game.

The black, red, white outs were nice a couple of years ago, but the novelty has worn off. If we do a game promotion, it is time to do something new.

When was the last time we did a black out? Oh that's right, this is our first ever black-out promotion. Time for something new already though? How bout giving this one a chance and just wear black to the game?

For me too. Perfect thing to wear for the blackout.

Is BU listening? It sounds like we have an opportunity here to auction of BU uniforms from the "Black Out" game vs. ISU next year. For this to work though, we need to win this year's game first, which will help create momentum for next year's bigger promotion.

I'm still mad, I lost out on all my bids for the last batch of BU jerseys.

I agree the novelty has worn off. However, as loyal as the BU core fanbase is, I have been very surprised this year how small the participation has been in the whiteout/redout thing. Take a look at Creighton and Illinois. Near 100% participation in the past, and I don't believe they necessarily always provide the shirt.

The only one I can remember being even close was BU vs MSU. Do Illinois and Creighton have more involved/committed fans than Bradley?

Same promotion with a different color..... It is getting old and should not be needed for the ISU game! I like the special jersey for the players for a big games though.

Exactly... Last game was not much of a white out.

If you check my previous posts in other threads, I'm a big supporter of doing a black-out with the team wearing a black 3rd uniform. I think that would be better but this is a start.

If I remember right, the times the red/white outs worked best was when the shirts were already placed on the seats before everyone arrived, so why not try that this year?

Thats a REAL good question Dub. I dunno the answer. I think ONE factor is winning. Fans usually seem les involved or feel les inclined to get involved when a team isn't "on top". Its almost like I'm here but I don't want to show I'm TOO much a fan becuase we aren't real good.

Maybe I make TOO much an issue of it but I cringe when I see people in suits or a green shirt at the game. I just wish everyone would wear red. I understand some don't think it makes a difference and its just what happens on the court but I STRONGLY disagree.

I think the fans can send a message and having a sea of red can be somewhat intimidating to the visitors. Look at that MSU game....was THAT an awesome atmosphere or what.

Why can't we have that for the Valley games which are TEN times more importaint then MSU was?

I think recruits see it also and think...WOW what a great place, look at the crowd, they really are involved.

Agreed.......maybe a black towel also on the seat to wave. I REALLY think the players respond to this kind of stuff.

Lets give the fans a great effort...look what THEY are doing for us.

Don't be MAD....... Bid higher!

Nope.....just show up and forget about all that other stuff, as many seemed to do during the "white-out".

I completely agree! I can't even comprehend NOT wearing red to a Bradley game, unless of course it's a whiteout or blackout game. If I'm walking over from work, I make sure to take a Bradley shirt to work that day and change shirts just before heading over for the game. Next Tuesday, I'll make sure to wear all black to work and won't even have to bother changing before the game. I don't feel as if it's that much of an effort as a very simple show of support to the program on gamenight.

lol :) I would rather wear BU red, but...... I...... will wear the black at this game. The new AD talked about creativity in today's PJS. I hope that extends to more creative concepts for games next year.

That bugs me alot, as the MSU game looked so cool on TV, whereas most of the games just don't look that good. I always wear red when I go to games, and when I see all the people that don't it angers me. Why where another color? It doesn't make sense to me. When I went with my friends who had never been to a BU game before, I made sure I found some extra red BU gear for them to wear, cause I wouldn't let them leave until they wore red! As much as Illini fans bug me with their arrogance, nothing looks cooler on TV then when everyone is all dressed in Orange and some Blue, or MSU in their whiteouts. Support your team and where their colors!! Also It'd be cool if we could make the first few rows on the sides of the court for students too, so they could surround the court at least on 3 sides. Although we don't have enough students that show to do this anyway, as we don't even fill the regular student section.

Atta Boy Ben....:)

I understand and as Chucky T always says...EVERY game should be a RED OUT.

But I think what they heck....it might be cool. I mean if 95% do it it should be pretty neat sight. Trouble is it MIGHT not be enough to get the full effect.

But at least we got you "converted" and on board. :)

I was told today that the shirts would be waiting on the chairs in the stadium, I even offered to go early and help set that up, but it sounds like they won't need my help lol

Anyways point is that the shirts will be easily available for everyone so why not put it on and give it a chance.

The real question is the student section. Now I've only been here for 4 years, but it seems that whenever we do a white out, the students still stayed in red to contrast with the rest of the stadium which gives a cool look. But for the black out, do we break that streak and wear the black instead? Just trying to get a consensus before the game.
