Bradley center Ari Boya is still wearing a boot on his right foot/ankle, and will not play this weekend.
There is no word about whether Sean East will be available to play.

Game story from BradleyBraves.com

Also- some good news about TV coverage in Peoria on WMBD that is not mentioned in that game info from the Bradley website....
The game was scheduled to be televised locally in the Springfield, Missouri area by KOZL-TV, a local TV station in Springfield, MO.
Now, WMBD TV, Peoria channel 31, has obtained the broadcast rights and will televise the game locally in the Peoria area.
So local fans now have another alternative. It will be available on WMBD TV at 5:00 pm, but the broadcasters will be Missouri State guys.

Good news- Update from Dave Eminian in the PJ Star today-
Bradley guard Sean East II practiced with the team Thursday and will be available to play Saturday and Sunday at Missouri State.
Bradley center Ari Boya remains out with a right foot injury. He has missed all 13 conference games so far.

This is the best news in 3 weeks!!!

Looking f/w to getting Mr. East back and helping this time in the final push of the season!

Let's get 1 out of 2 this weekend, starting with a Saturday W!
I would LOVE to finish #6 in the MVC. That seems like a great spot to be in as a dog this season.

And not looking too far ahead (yeah right), if we were to win in St. Louis, we will have accomplished the 3-peat as:
#4 seed (2020)
#5 seed (2019)
#6 seed (2021)

Great news about East! Sure can’t hurt having a true point guard running your offense. We definitely have missed him during these last few weeks and if we can get Boya back and healthy before the tournament we could possibly contend again for the title because the talent is there to do so.

Absolutely agree - A healthy East and Boya and we are by far the deepest (and arguably most talented) team in the Valley!

Just saw that Childs, Henry, Kingsby, and Nolan were suspended for the Missouri State games this weekend. "Violation of program standards." Anyone know what they did?

Yes, this is just now breaking-

I just listened to the pregame interview that Dave Snell does with Coach Wardle, and this was not mentioned. And I have not heard it mentioned on the pregame show by Dan D'Orio. So this must be something that just emerged, possibly due to some activity those players engaged in last night?

Dave Snell just reported the news as it was reported in the Bradley tweet. He had no further information to add about the suspensions.

Going to be an ugly weekend. Looks like we are probably going to have to play our way in this year. So frustrating!

Is the game not on WMBD?

WMBD did not start televising the game until the golf tournament ended at almost 5:30 pm and more than halfway through the first half.
But it is on now.

Bradley trails 44-24 at halftime-
https://missouristatebears.com/sidearmstats/mbball/media

Missouri State is shooting 17-23 (73.9%) from the floor, and they are 7-10 from three.
Bradley is 10-28 (35.7%) and 1-8 (12.5%)
Rebounding- Missouri State 14 Bradley 12
Tahvanainen and Mast have 5 each to lead Bradley.
For MSU Jamonta Black has 15, Gaige Prim has 14.

Bradley was overmatched from the start with our top 3 scorers suspended, along with our top reserve, and with Boya still out injured. That amounts to about 47 points in average scoring per game that was unable to play. Missouri State fell behind Bradley 9-2 early, but then roared back to build a big lead, and maintain it throughout the game. Bradley trailed by 20 at halftime (44-24), and then played MSU pretty evenly in the second half. But hot shooting by Missouri State was the biggest difference (57%overall and 61% from three) as Missouri State wins game 1 of the two game series 80-58-

Ville Tahvanainen lead Bradley with 13 points, Darius Hannah had 10, Sean East had 8, and Jayson Kent had 7.
Rienk Mast had Bradley's first 5 point of the game in the opening 90 seconds of the first half, but then failed to score after that. But, he lead Bradley with 7 rebounds. Bradley had 22 rebounds to 32 for MSU. It was a good effort, but from what I saw of our young players, Bradley needs to recruit and develop bigger, stronger inside players along with better perimeter shooters to stay competitive in the Valley in future years.

I don’t understand why we can’t get out and rotate faster on the 3! This isn’t the first time this has happened in games this year. I know we were short handed tonight but this isn’t the first time this has happened... I will say our freshman competed hard but just overmatched.

Proud of the effort from our eligible players. Proud of Coach Wardle sticking to his principles and making sure those 4 young men understand that it’s a privilege to play at Bradley. I’m disappointed in those 4 but hopefully they are more disappointed in themselves and what it cost the team. They had better learn that lesson or move on elsewhere.

GREAT to see Sean East back on the court and contributing in limited minutes.
By far our best PG and the offense just flows more or less when he touches the ball.

I really hope we know how valuable this kid is for us as a sophomore - IMO the best part of this season is seeing East’s consistency (minus a 2-game stretch) and then his return tonight.

Ville and Hannah played very well.

Great effort all around and really we could have lost by 40 with such a depleted roster.

Yes, East if by far our best chance for a good point guard. It was nice to see Thomas hit a shot or two yesterday, If he can do that he is a decent backup PG. McAdoo isn’t a good enough decision maker or quick enough in his decisions to run the team. I think that showed yesterday. I don’t think he’s a point guard.
