Bradley 84-72 UWM postgame thread

Great team win for the Braves tonight. Everyone contributed at some point and I thought they played with a lot of emotion tonight. As has been said, TCS was given his opportunity and he made something of it. Keep it up Tyrone! We need ya!

Hopefully the team can keep rolling and we can stay healthy.

I echo the sentiments on the quality minutes by Cole-Scott. We absolutely need a contribution from him under the circumstances. I would have like to have seen Collins get some minutes. If, and that's still a big if, Ruff is out for the tourney I don't think we can get 3 W's in 3 days playing only 7.

There were several potential recruits at the game. I talked at length at half time to Codey Funk from El Paso.

I was really hoping DC would get some meaningful minutes tonight. The one disturbing thing about tonight's stats was getting outrebounded by a short UW-M team ... UW-M pulled down an unacceptable level of offensive rebounds. We need DC.

Healthy is one thing, but burnout is another issue altogether. I hope our top players can stay sharp with all of the minutes they will be logging. Fortunately, we only have a handful of games left, but three games in three days in St. Louis will be a monumental challenge now.

I was also very impressed with how TW just quietly went about his business and turned in a huge game. Incrediable efficiency going 5-7 from the floor, 4-4 from the FT line, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. The defination of a solid game performance.

He has been so great for us all year. I think next year he maybe able to move to the small forward spot and really dominate. He should be NOY this year and he could be an all valley player next year IMO.

Little optimism is starting to flow back in my veins lol. Outstanding game tonight. Defense was lacking a little on the boards but everything else was about the norm. I mean what better can you get when we were up by 19 points a couple times without our first & 3rd starting scorers and only 2 bench players to provide rest. UW-M is a quality team that Butler only beat by 5 points as most people mentioned. They certainly are even or better than UNI, In State, MO State along with SIU and Creighton on the road. Now it's the agonizing wait till Monday to see what BU is going to do with Ruff and hopefully a huge finale win on Tuesday.

Fantastic effort in the wake of a terrible day otherwise. Major, major kudos should be given to everyone, especially coach Jim Les. He had this team focused and ready to play. He gets ripped on a lot when things don't go well, so I think we all should make sure to give him his props when things do go well. This team had every reason to mail this one in, and instead came out and had one of their finest all-around efforts of the year despite being without two of their leading scorers. Great job coach, great job team!

BTW - I like the new, under control Tyrone Cole-Scott. I wouldn't rule this guy out as far as being a significant contributor next season, and perhaps even this year even if Ruffin returns.

I'd like to just thank the Bradley fans and students for being gracious and fun hosts at the game tonight. I got home about a half hour ago from a long drive back to Milwaukee. It was fun to sit behind the bench and cheer even in a losing cause. I certainly hope some (many) of you come to Milwaukee for the return trip next year so I can buy you a beer.

Thanks Nohops......glad you enjoyed the game and had fun in Peoria! Maybe next year both teams will be sitting in better shape standing wise come this time of season!

Nice to hear from you.

Were you the fan with the black and yellow wig??

Great win by the Braves.

I don't think Crouch and Maniscalco can do another full 40 min. So, I'm curious as to how the coaching staff can create a rotation to allow them some rest. Not sure how it can happen though with Ruff and Warren still in question. No doubt they are going to assume the worst that both will not be available Tuesday.

Warren is definitely out for Tuesday.
Ruffin seems like a long shot to be available. I see the minutes played being similar to last night's game.

My 2 cents.

Incredible team effort on what had to be a "Twilight Zone" type day for a bunch of college kids. I could not have been more impressed. IMO it demonsrated how JC's leadership skills have come along in just a few months. What a performance.

Kudo's to JL as well for keeping the team focused. Their progress in just a few weeks has been staggering.

If this whole "crisis" shakes out as I have a gut feeling that it might, watch out for this team. Their potential in my mind has increased dramatically since the response by all to the adversity the last week or so.

Great to see BB, friends and fam at BWW. I think we need to have more informal social gatherings amongst board members. I think you would be amazed at how much more we would enjoy the "conversations" we have day in and day out if we could put a face with a "board name."

Do we know anymore about Warren? Did any one get a chance to talk to him at the game?

Yes....I spoke with him....
He is doing well...here is what he said....
--Tuesday the cast comes off and the stitches come out...then the whole situation is evaluated.
-- he will NOT play until the post-season at least, and maybe not until after the MVC Tourney, but almost certainly will be cleared by the time the NCAA tournament or NIT start.
The hardware stays in until 5-6 months then will be removed surgically.

Here's more stats.........
the "bigs" (Austin, Salley, singh, and Wilson (who I am counting since he plays a s a forward)...totalled 34 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 blocks, and were 9-9 from the FT line!!

Agreed, I thought he played a very nice game. His drives were all when a significant lane had opened and his shots were all open and not at the first time he'd touched the ball. As the game went on you could almost see the confidence in his offensive plays as well. I thought he could come around for us, and I have a feeling last night was that happening. Keep it up, TCS!
