Bradley has announced that the search for a new President at Bradley University is winding down. The committee that was created to oversee the search received over 80 applications. They interviewed all their candidates and narrowed the search down to a few finalists. Those finalists went through a second round of interviews and from there the committee reportedly selected their top candidate and made an official referral to the Board. The candidate was interviewed by the full Board of Trustees last week, and reportedly, an offer has been made. There should be a hiring later this month, or in early March.

I am sure all will agree that current Bradley President Gary Roberts has done a miraculous and incredible job bringing values and trust and integrity back to the office of Bradley President. I and I am sure others will always be grateful that Gary took over when he did. Congratulations Gary on a job extremely well done - Enjoy your well earned retirement and as all of us continue to Cheer On Our Braves.

I do not know, so everything here is based on rumor and speculation.
The search committee has been very secretive about their decision-making. Only a small handful know who the committee recommended, and all are sworn to secrecy.

I have heard rumors that some of the qualities that were considered more desirable in a candidate were age (someone not too old), an outgoing and energetic personality, a background in higher education and a record of some success at fundraising.

There were candidates who were older, had name recognition, local area connections, or a prior relationship with Bradley. Those are qualities that some Universities find attractive and may have been considered here. And they might have made for a good choice. But I don't think those were as important as the qualities mentioned in the previous paragraph.

So if I had to make a guess, I'd say it will probably be someone who isn't local and whose name we have not heard before.
Someone who is 50's or younger, has an outgoing and congenial personality, who is working at an executive level at another university and has experience in fundraising.

Anyone else want to guess?

They've asked Glasser to come back?

I am hearing from multiple sources that Bradley has made their choice for the next President. It is a high ranking executive at another prestigious university, but I have heard the candidate is not serving as the president there. They had hoped to make the announcement publicly by now, but it has been delayed by a couple factors, and reportedly the contracts are not 100% finalized, but are expected to be soon.
I had heard a rumor that the candidate wanted to serve out their term through the end of this academic year where he is, but I cannot confirm that.

As good as this forum is for basketball talk what really sets it apart is the conversations about Bradley as a whole l, thank you for being on top of the breaking news!

Great year to ink a new university president... they will be stepping into duty during a time that should solidify for them the importance and prominence of men’s basketball.

I am hearing a bit more about Bradley's choice for a new President. If what I am told is correct, he sounds like a great choice, but what do I know?
He has spent almost his entire career in higher education, most recently at schools similar to Bradley. Ironically, he has a number of things in common with our current President (though he is younger), and they apparently are familiar with each other, though I don't think Pres. Roberts was involved in the selection process.
I can't reveal a name or more info publicly just yet. The announcement should be made probably Thursday.

I’ve heard he’ll be coming from the BU of Indiana. This may be the most important hire since Abegg. I sure hope the new Prez is up to the immense challenges that Bradley faces over the next decade.

You heard right, PhiAlphaBoy. He's also very familiar with the MVC from his background. He's well liked and successful at the schools he's been at previously. The search committee is very high on him, and after meeting with a lot of the Board members and department heads, they all feel the same way, from what I hear.

The new President at Bradley will be Stephen Standifird, currently the Dean of the Lacy School of Business at Butler University.

Here is his Facebook page. He seems like a regular guy, not a stuffed-shirt executive type person. He's got a couple young daughters and a beautiful wife.

And it looks like he was important in raising the funds to open the new Lacy School of Business building on the Butler campus. Primary benefactor Andre Lacy donated $25 million of the $50 million cost of the building-
