Hmmm...Bradley has hired a new GM (General Manager) of Basketball for men's and women's basketball programs.
and it's quite possibly the very best guy for the job... announcement coming...
Someone well known who will elevate BU NIL by hundreds of thousands of $$ per year...

This will help Bradley compete in the recruiting arena- with some of the P-4 caliber players

BU's release coming soon...
Tom Hammerton

Bradley President James Shadid, as well as VP for Intercollegiate Athletics, Dr. Chris Reynolds, played key roles in bringing Mr. Hammerton back to Bradley. This is a game-changer for Bradley Basketball.
Many people at Bradley as well as BU supporters considered it a sad day when he left Bradley in 2008. Tom is widely considered one of the best at what he does. As the press release above says-
[Tom Hammerton is]... Recognized as one of the region's premier fundraisers, he led numerous transformative campaigns throughout his career at both Bradley and OSF, including the highly successful campaign for the OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute. Under his leadership, OSF Foundation assets grew from approximately $30 million to more than $400 million.

Welcome back to Bradley Tom!

Let us hope he has the same kind of success upon his return to Bradley as he had at OSF. If he does that would be great in being able to attract high end talent for the basketball program.

I am assuming that "being able to attract" is obtaining money to procure talented players. That means connecting with donors who give to the players.

In this world I think it is technically giving to the university, specifying mens (or womens) basketball for the donation and then the athletic department manages paying players.

Tom Hammerton is a blue chipper. He is a great hire…should never have been driven off. Raising dollars for NIL is a challenge. If anyone can do it for Bradley, he is the one..’
I would have "Liked" this tweet a hundred times if I could.
I can only imagine the successes Bradley Athletics might have had over the last 18 years if Mr. Hammerton had been allowed to continue the great work he was doing for Bradley under the previous administration.

I agree with you, but also theres a pretty big "everything happens for a reason" there.

OSF wouldn't be the OSF it is today without Hammerton being there. A lot of people raised a lot of money, but there is a reason he was in charge of that. Kevin Schoeplein is number one, but Hammerton is definitely in the top 3 of great OSF hires.

yeah but the reason he exited BU in 2008 is a truth that many of the a&&kissers to JKG pretend doesn't exist

So how do these GM roles work? Besides the fundraising, are they negotiating the NIL deals with the players/handlers as soon as the HC makes an offer or is the negotiation with the HC too?
