Bradley Athletics Fan Advisory Council created

Is there a way to create a "Virtual Seat"? With all the tech in this world, surely its possible. Have a "seat" reserved for recording and broadcasting the game live. Put it front and center. Then sell the "seat" online for people to watch live online virtually. Charge an attractive price and allow unlimited viewers to purchase the "seat".
I like this idea but didn't we do something similar a couple years ago, just without the cameras?

I have another suggestion
There's a page on the Bradley Athletic web site that's dedicated to listing the dates & restaurant locations of the
Voice of the Braves Coaches radio shows -- BUT... it hasn't been updated since fall of 2024, so it definitely messes with fans
who would like to catch the action at the radio show events. I wonder if any fans during 2025-26 went on the wrong nights as a result.
Please get this updated for 2026-27 asap.

I want to emphasize publicity is very important. Bradley needs to let the world know what they have accomplished athletically. The last 2years Bradley had had an All-American in each year from their Track/Cross country programs. Some of us might know that but the rest of the world does not. I am hoping the new SID will start doing that

Halftime shows need to be about the cheerleaders and dance team. They work hard to perform so let them have the halftime, no need to pay for other acts. They could invite season ticketholders to a practice like they did in the past. Coach handed out a flier that explained everything they did in practice to the fans that attended. I do wish they would have scheduled 2 exb. scrimmages at home.

This is such a good point and so easy to correct. I think examples like this just show how poor the athletic department really is when it comes to communicating with the fan base. For a school that’s touts itself for having one of the best sports communications programs in the country, they certainly don’t show it. Can we Charlie Steiner to get involved?

And I don’t care what was said about Dave Vroman not wanting to come out of retirement. Everyone has a price.

Agree because the band was so much better with him leading it. I doubt seriously that he would want to do it as it requires a lot of time and effort. I remember when Larry Fogelberg was Pekin"s band director, they were really great under him. Yes he was Dan Fogelbergs father. Directors like coaches make a significant difference.

Hard part for the band is that he did it for so long and there was never an understudy. Couple that with a few changes since he retired, and things aren't really the same as they used to be. The "family and friends band" fell apart this past year as well.

how many people recall when Josiah Williams was the "Emcee of Bradley Basketball"?=
He had style, personality and got the arena rocking... people loved him and he was a big benefit to keeping the crowd in the game.
I'm not saying we could bring him back, but in the years since he's been gone, there hasn't been anyone even close
that has stepped into that role.

also- add some giveaways for kids... gotta try to get more young people there. And start the week night/school night games
at 6:30 or 6:45pm so the kids don't have to stay out til past 10pm

Another thing that has not been updated is the online Bradley Record book. The last data in it is from 2024, two years ago. That is actually an improvement over the years prior to that when they went from 2019 to 2024 without an update.

All stuff that could be easily fixed with an AI agent. Have to embrace some new technology!

Its funny because there were a lot of people who liked Josiah (myself included), but there were also people who complained that it was too loud, too whatever. I think Blake Wirth could grow into the role, but if Dustin Fitzpatrick were in Peoria full-time, he's a slam dunk.

He was the best!!

Game time now is dictated by who is streaming the game. 6:30 or 6:45 does not work, needs to be on the hour. I do get what you are saying though about young kids.

I am watching the Cubs game and they seem to always start at 6:40pm and the TV and radio people don't seem to complain...
Maybe make it 6:30 if 6:40 troubles anyone. Then I checked a couple random dates from last year and lots of games start on the half-hour
Here's Feb 7, 2026.

That is not ESPN plus which has multiple games on and they start on the hour which is why when some go past it you have to switch to one of their other networks to see the start of your game.

The years that I am able to go watch the Braves play in Normal, I'm reminded how far behind we are with the in-game experience. Doing whatever it takes to get students into the building to be actively engaged in the games should be top priority. The student section at Carver is usually looking empty and sad. I'm not one to know what gets young people in the building, so I'll leave that to the experts.

On court, the promotions and contests are stale. Let's turn up the music (bring back the DJ courtside), retire the tricycles, put away the crutch races, and stop guessing how many coupons are in a pizza box. Halftime is less important, most people are leaving their seats to hit the restroom or grab a snack.

We should also acknowledge that Bradley is way behind the times with their merch. The merch at games is usually sad, picked over, and has very little variety. It's all hoodies and shirts with the exact same logo on repeat. The only new merch drop I recall last season was picked over and mostly sold out within 30 minutes of the arena doors opening. They don't have to look far for merch inspiration, even the Rivermen have significantly more variety in their gear on a game to game basis.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The Fan Advisory Council has their first meeting next week, so if anyone can think of any more ideas to improve fan engagement or make the fan experience at games better, let us know. I'll try to keep everyone updated here.

One suggestion that was posted was the the Bradley team should appear at community events and meet and mingle with fans.
Well, maybe that's already happening. This picture is from today's Peoria RiverFront Market, Can anyone identify the four Bradley players?
