Bradley Baseball Recruiting Class Receives National Attention

For the first time in history Bradley baseball's recruiting class is nationally ranked!
3 players were selected in the MLB draft, but declined pro offers and will play this year at Bradley.
3 of Bradley's recruits received All-American honors, and 5 more garnered All-State honors.

Congratulations to Coach Elvis Dominguez and to all the fine BU baseball recruits!

It's good to see that we are getting the thoroughbreds to compete with the top team's of the MVC.

Yes, you are right but keep in mind that 80 percent of the team are freshmen and just out of high school. But quality freshmen who can play and produce!!!
Go Braves!!!

Also Jr. college baseball vs basketball is not the same! The jr college baseball is generally much higher quality product.

Thank you very much sfp, i am glad to see that at least some people know what they are talking about when it comes to college baseball .

Getz needs a refresher course on college baseball talent and needs to "getz' with the program!!!

Go braves!!!

So nice to have a buzz around BU Baseball! If Wichita St. can recruit big time baseball talent why not us? It'll be interesting to see what happens with attendance this Spring.

I don't follow the baseball team too closely, but I was wondering why their record is just 12-23, 5-10? Not dead last in conference play, but definitely the worst overall record in the MVC.

Supposedly it's because we're very young. I'll give Elvis another year or two to start showing progress, but his past record doesn't instill a lot of confidence in me.

Cue BUBASEBALL#1's response in 3......2......1......

I would really comment on this thread but last time we had a thread like this in the main forum, it turned into a lot of negativity and was subsequently deleted so I'll refrain from any more comments

It's hard to look at the recruiting classes the last couple years and not agree that Bradley is getting a higher level of talent that they did under Dewey. Baseball is a sport where development and physical conditioning mean a lot more than in some other sports. That's why it's rare to see high school kids jump to the big leagues in less than 3 or 4 years, yet you see basketball players do it all the time. Give these kids time. I think they'll be pretty good.

Baseball is a game of repetition and that is why you see the older teams do well in the College World Series. If a player is good enough his freshman year to lead his team to a great record chances are he'll get enough money from the pro ranks to bypass college.
