Bradley is 5th Most Improved Team in the Country

I have only rarely used the term - but tell me what term would you prefer to use for those who were against his hiring right fron the beginning, urged JL's departure all along, cheered his exit, and who still often turn discussions into JL-bashing - still blaming current problems on someone who's been gone nearly two years?

This is a reason for the constant back and forth arguing/bickering. Why do you feel you need a label or term for those who disagree with your opinion. You state your opinions and others state theirs. Nobody needs to "termed" or labeled anything because of how they feel.

Hey - I'm gonna be upfront - if you don't like what's going on here, get on another ship or build one of your own.

I suspect that I missed a quote from TAS that caused your reaction. I have mostly found his comments to be well thought out and fair (but not always popular). Even if he posted something that was wrong (deleted?) that does not make it right for you to tell him leave this site. Tornado's quote would seem to apply here.

I will leave it at that as I know you are reasonable and do not blame you in any way for the attacks of others -

If people let simple opinions get that much under their skin - they need to read something else.[/QUOTE]

Calling someone anti-JL is such a misleading and juvenile term developed by posters to force others into one side or the other. This board has succeeded in making it impossible to simply say

"I appreciate what Jim did for BU. I felt the program was trending in the wrong direction, and a change was needed. I wish Jim all the best at UCD. I support Geno and hope he has success beyond what Bradley has ever experienced" without being labeled as anti-JL.

This doesn't mean I want Geno to succeed to prove firing Jim was the right decision, nor does it mean if Jim does a fine job at UCD we made the wrong decision.

I agree. Juvenile bickering back and forth does nothing to advance one's opinions, and only leads to more arguing and name calling. But at times when myself and other pro-Les (for lack of a better term) posted the other side of the argument, a few people (not you) would respond with some snide comments. If everyone responded like you just did DeltaBrave, I agree the conversation would be civil, and both sides would agree to disagree and move on. :)

This had nothing to do with people disagreeing with his opinion BuB. There were people who were against Les's hiring in the first place just because he didn't have coaching experience. I find that an unfair statement because there have been many first time coaches who have excelled at this level. I think that's why there are people who have such strong opinions supporting him. Now we can disagree on how long he should have been coaching here, but I think most of the comments are pretty civil here, even if some cross the line at times.

I know as a Saluki fan, no one here really cares my opinion but I will add some fuel to this fire. I am sure most Saluki fans would really like to see JL still coaching. Mostly because the Ferrari pictures were so much fun but there are other reasons as well.

That "move on" thing seems to occasionally be a challenge. ;)

I don't see anyone telling anyone else to leave - he's just questioning why do people repeatedly & willingly go back to places where they claim they are treated so badly and feel so incredibly offended?

You may have missed my main point. Tornado was wanting to know what "term" was ok to use to describe others who gave their opinion. I was trying to say that they don't need to be called anything. Not anti or pro, lover or hater, believer or non believer, etc. I have read enough threads over the years to know many posters don't like to be "termed," labeled or called anything. That has lead to lots of arguments or bickering.

Yeah, I did missunderstand your post. Thanks!

Here is the quote I am talking about. It is real clear what LB says TAS can do. This is not a question. TAS interpeted this the same way I did based on his response to the same quote..... It is wrong to tell other posters they can go away. That is why I said LB should take your advise

"If people let simple opinions get that much under their skin - they need to read something else."

I disagree 100% BuB...I guess we see things differently...
I see a huge difference between wondering why someone's here if they don't like it here - vs. "telling" them to leave.

if I have a guest in my living room and if I want him to leave, I say...
"you must leave now" or "leave before I ban you or call the authorities"

...it is a completely different thing to somewhat politely say - "if you don't like what's going on here - there's another party going on down the street"..

Ok. I guess we do disagree 100%. But again this quote from LB is not a question.....its a statement. I, very clearly, understood what was being said. LB was not "wondering" anything.

Say I am coaching a team and am tired of continually dealing with a player I always disagree with. One who won't stop arguing with me about playing time I say.....

Hey - I'm gonna be upfront - if you don't like what's going on here, get on another ship or build one of your own.

If I want to be polite I say, "I think it would be in your best interests if you left our team. I can help you transfer to another school if you want assistance."

Bottom line is everybody knows what is being said. Go somewhere else. And evidently TAS has......and that is wrong. He was a good poster who gave mostly fair opinions and had no problems seeing things from both sides.
