Bradley is in the NIT! HOME GAME WEDNESDAY MARCH 18 vs DAYTON, 8pm, on ESPNU

Correction: Dayton has played in the NIT the 2nd most of all time, but the most times for this 2026 field. Bradley has played 25 times, so both teams with a rich Basketball 🏀 history! The game should sell out because Dayton Fans travel well and they are not that far from Peoria! This will create a great atmosphere reminiscent of the recent Illinois State game!!!!

No way it’s a sellout. Wed night game at 8. That will eliminate a lot of families with younger kids. Dayton may bring some fans. I’d be happy with 5k.

I’m very happy to be wrong on the NIT. But probably had something to do with the unusual situation with Belmont declining given their coaching uncertainty.

And to think a home game because Dayton is our opponent…I’ll take it!
No if Belmont would of accepted UIC would of been the team most likely screwed.

Here are the 7 different metrics the NIT uses to decide at-large picks.
They use something they call the KNIT, which is the average of these 7 metrics.
UIC's rank is better in the top three, and Bradley's is better in the other four.
But Bradley's KNIT is slightly better than UIC's.

NET- UIC 110 Bradley 113
Ken Pom- UIC- 105 Bradley- 123
Torvik- UIC 112 Bradley 134
Strength of Record- UIC 153 Bradley 120
KPI- UIC 121 Bradley 95
Wins Above Bubble- UIC 160 Bradley 121

BPI- UIC 117 Bradley 116

Average-
UIC- 125.4
Bradley- 117.4

Still considering the draw, I would love to see 7K or more on Wed! I'm planning to be there after my 3+ hr drive north of Chitown!

Correct and that would push UIC out. (If they were the last team in)

$27 for an NIT game is still not terrible even in the upper bowl. I know most upper bowl tickets were just $10 in the regular season for majority of home games, but that is an UNREAL price in this day and age! Loyola even with their dismal season, charges over $30 for the worst seats.
That shouldn't be a sole reason for an individual to not support BU if you live close to Peoria...IMO
For a family, probably matters.

Not that students come out in droves, but its also Spring Break. I'm sure some student fans will be there, but the occassional attendee is not even on campus.

25th time in school history. Second only to St John's, who has 30 and 5 championships. Braves have 4!
not 2nd.... as Dayton has participated in 29 NIT's, winiing it 3 times, finishing runnerup 5 times

Also they are charging $27 for upper bowl seats which will also hurt attendance.

I thought it was interesting that ISUr gets to charge $20 for a LB ticket, and $15 for an UB ticket. Why don't we have that latitude? Someone said the NCAA sets the prices...why are there tiered prices at some host sites and not others?

Does anyone remember Bradley winning at Dayton in 1985-86 on a last second buzzer beater play where Jim Les fired a 60 foot
line drive pass to Hersey Hawkins who turned and launched a 35 foot shot at the buzzer?
It happened right after the buzzer beater at Drake and BOTH shots are on this YouTube video right after the 2:00 mark

The buzzer-beater at Drake happened with the score tied, and was the game winner.

However, that buzzer-beater by Hersey at Dayton did not win the game for Bradley. Dayton was ahead by 2 points, and the shot by Hawkins tied the game at the buzzer. Bradley went on to win the game in overtime 79-77.
Both games are described here-

Great video! Never seen this!

That does not seem fair. If this is true then the NCAA does not really set the price.

Yes, the NCAA does set the prices. I don't know what criteria they use to choose the prices, but historically they have varied by venue.
I'm guessing it's set by supply and demand. Bradley has always drawn bigger crowds for postseason games than most hosts.

So basically put they choose to charge Bradley fans more which to me is BS. Bradley should be complaining to them about this because upper bowl seats should be a lot cheaper period. This is also the reason why some fans will not go because of the higher ticket price for a seat in the upper concourse. I guess our ticket office just does not complain and allows them to screw over their fan base.
By the way I have lower bowl seats and it does not effect me but I just think it stinks for the ones that wanted to come yet cannot afford the extra money. I do know fans that are not taking their kids do to these prices.
