Bradley Loses 69-65 @ isu

I thought Theron got mugged several times going to the rim tonight. And I also question the foul on Singh after the backboard play. Not blaming the refs for the loss, we had chances down the stretch.

The isu student section was a LOT cleaner this time, got to give credit where credit is due. But overall I thought the game in Peoria was a lot louder. Could have to do with where I sit.

I really wish we could have pulled this one out. I thought that it could be a long afternoon in the beginning but we battled back, so thats something. IMO that is our toughest MVC road game this year. And I think we take them out on a neutral court/ St. Louis. Also, Theron was a monster, got to give him credit there.

A couple of things... I saw the game on tv at work and missed some of the last few minutes because of....well work.:| What I missed on tv, I heard on the radio...

A well played game from both teams. Congrats to ISU on a good win.

I WANT to play ISU in St Louis. We match up well with them and we can beat them at a neutral site.

The officiating: I dont think anyone can complain too much about the officiating. (aside from the backboard play which I havent seen) I am not saying that I like the way the game was officiated.. I didnt... But to me, the refs seemed to be consistent with their calls for both sides. Players were allowed to absolutely mug each other in the paint and the charge/blocking calls seemed to be called at the drop of a hat.... That being said,IMO, the BU-ISU game in Peoria was called much better by the refs.

Tough loss but good effort. Surprised that CR only got 10 minutes of action. I thought we might need a bigger gaurd to help with Oguchi and Eldridge. Maybe that is punishment for the last second steak shot.

CR was getting back doored everytime out there that is why he saw limited time. Sometimes you have to play your man not the passing lanes.

Bradley played well and made most of their free throws for a change. That same effort beats everyone else in conference, including UNI, which is now a must win to avoid threat of falling to 7-7 with the rest of the pack. I can't fault the effort, but again, what does David Collins give us that AT can't? Collins is the weakest big man on the team, has hands of glass, and still can't shoot very well. How worse can Thompson be? When the ball goes into DC, who isn't cringing knowing a strip is imminent, or a brick, and teh good defensive collins that had been there recently was nowhere to be fouind today. A major disappointment from DC today...he just can't play consistently at this level.

Did anyone else feel like we should have went for a three and the win instead of Maniscalco driving to the basket for a tie? I kept thinking about Rob Dye's three to win at Redbird and I envisioned Sammy doing that for the past few days.

I found it very interesting to listen to the ISU postgame on our way to dinner. Champ Ogucci commented on how if his back would have been better in Peoria it probably would have been a different story. Highly unlikely IMO. He didn't seem to do that much today. After ISU's play by play gave kudos to Theron Wilson, ol' Champ said, "He creates a lot of problems for most teams in our league, but I did a great job on him." Nothing beats giving yourself props when your man scores 17 and pulls down 9 rebounds. Oh yeah, and he referred to BU as "The Bradley".

I didn't mind the attempted layup, I thought it was a good enough shot that just didn't go down. Last year I think we take the 3, no question.

Great game today. Very good effort by both teams for 40 mins. Intense, emotional, loud game that came down to the wire---just how the War on 74 should be. I thought both teams left it all on the floor today. My heart skipped quite a few beats down the stretch, but that's par for the course in a game like this. Each of us won at home again this year, not surprising. Also hats off to the strong and noisy contingent of BU fans that made the trip today, you guys definately made your presence known on more than a couple occasions.

Great college basketball game for sure, and it's games like that which prove beyond any doubt that BU/ISU is the best rivalry in the Valley bar none, and one of the best in college basketball, especially when both teams are successful & fighting at the top of the league. 2 games each decided by 4 points. If we meetup in STL for round 3, that will just be insane.

Does Dunson always gun like that? 15 points on 16 shots? wow. Was that characteristic of his game or was he just trying to take over in front of the hometown folks?

No, he is the consummate team player, but today the game plan called for him to imitate Osiris Eldridge. :)

My hat is off to the ISU fans as I was very pleased that they cleaned their act up, all but the paper plane act.
As for the game it was a very hard fought one, with great effort from SM, DD and TW. As for SS, CR and DC where were you guys:doubt::-o I never seen so many back door dunks:!::-x I thought back doors were ment other things:oops:

Champ Oguchi was nowhere on defense yesterday. I watched him on theron and he went for every single head fake and ball fake possible. I noticed it pretty quickly as did Theron and TW just was able to go around him easily....they needed to give Champ so much help D almost every time theron was w/in 10 feet of the rim..he'd be double or triple teamed. We play them in STL the game plan should be to find a way to make a one on one with Champ because you will win that battle. Either he doesn't care about defense or he's just terrible at it....too slow...honestly that's what it was...he was not quick enough on defense.

Didn't you barely beat us in P'Town? We do suck on the road though.

No. We beat you handily in PTown. If it weren't for a couple desparation 3s that didn't never even got the lead below 4 points, it would have been a 7-12 point victory, which no one in their right mind would say is "barely" a win. You "barely" beat us yesterday because we had a 1 possession game in the waning seconds, and we could have tied the game to force a final possession.

However a win is a win, my hats off to ISU. I'm only commenting on this issue b/c I'm quite unhappy with the result of a certain football game tonight, and am in the mood to argue.

Nothing personal :)
