Yesterday was Bradley's Media Day held downtown at the Civic Center's Carver Arena.

Dave Reynolds' article--
BU freshmen are growing up in a hurry--

Also, all 3 Peoria TV stations did video segments on last night's news about the BU basketball team--

Good Video....fun to here the new players talk!

One thing I like about Jim's recruits. They always sound like student/athletes with a mic in their face. I think the staff does a great job of getting quality kids not just talented kids.

I would like to see us follow shots in shooting drills instead of watching and then going to the back of the line. Over the years we have not been good at following shots.

That's a good point BU30, though I wonder if it's not a bit intentional, at least as far as the 1,2, and 3 positions are concerned, as I think Les may want them in transition D instead of crashing the boards.

My thoughts exactly. We take a fair number of 3s and our guys need to get back in a hurry to play D and not give up easy baskets unless we pick up those long rebounds. We need our bigs to crash the boards.

This looked like a very relaxed simulation of a practice. I wonder if they were simply casually taking some shots prior to practice really starting so the media would have somthing to shoot.

From everything the players have said, practice is VERY intense. This piece of footage didn't reflect that. I wouldn't take a whole lot from it.

On another note...how good did Sam Singh look? He looks like a different player to me. I am excited to see how his new body translates to his play on the floor.

You are right- this was a typical media day- not a real practice.
The players are made available for interviews, and they run some simulated practice routines, but don't get into any serious work until the media is gone.

I liked how TB said he only got 2 hours of sleep but he still seemed really happy/upbeat..it made me laugh. He seems really excited to be here and to be playing basketball.

Thanks for linking the videos. Great stuff to whet the appetite until the actual games.

Heh. You guys are right. Dodie does seem to have a perpetual smile on his face. I doubt he does it, but it'd be really funny if he just smiles throughout actual games. Way to unnerve his opponents. :)
