Bradley MVC Schedule Announced

You know, to think of it, I wouldn't even be THAT mad if it was just the ISU game that was misplaced. But if you do that to BU, then you owe us. To put the next 2 biggest conference names during this same time is bush league. Bush league.

Not only are we losing the student, but all the marquee games are earlier in the season. Guess what that means: No TV games on FS Midwest down the stretch. No exposure. That hurts the resume, like it or not. When we're busy mopping up against the bottom of the league in February, no one will care and we can't play our way onto the bubble. This has ramifications, people.

Unless the Drake is great, again.
We might have a better shot of having a good last 10 record, though.

Overall, though, this is terrible. Is the MVC shooting itself in the foot by not having marquee games at the end of the season?

Some ISU fans are not at all happy with their schedule
http://redbirdfan.com/msgforum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10237

This is who they have...
Wright State
Alabama State
Houston Baptist
SMU
Nicholls State
Winston-Salem State
UC-Santa Barbara
Bowling Green
Morehead State
Central Michigan
UIC
then the conference season...
No majors, either home or away, and some pretty weak mid-majors.
SOS could be pretty weak.............

More about their "moaning and groaning"

(they count a highlight of their schedule as playing Houston Baptist in Dallas on Nov. 22, the 45th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's shooting)

If I were an ISU fan, I would be IRATE about that non-con sked. The chance of an at-large bid with that schedule is exactly ZERO. What in the world are those people thinking?

This is why local cable only packages are always a terrible, terrible, terrible idea.

If the BU games were also available on satellite carriers, then the displaced students could at least go to their local BWW or sports bar and watch the games.

There's been too many posts for me to quote people...so i'm just gonna speak the mind.

Personally...I'm pretty happy with the schedule.............................now that i'm done BSing you guys, here's how I really feel.

1) the Butler game...at home. takes place on study day. while this will not affect the overall attendance for the die-hards. The student attendance will probably drop at least a bit.

2) As for the Squirrel talking about the game where the kid was crying, the HS student left, etc. I cannot speak for the individuals at that game (heck I may have been one of them). But during the year the student section keeps at least a little bit of a professional demeanor. I cannot count the # of times that some of us front row red seasers have looked at someone in disgust for being an *****. So I, on behalf of the Red Sea, apologize

3) The grossest and most horrendous event I have ever experienced. was coming back to good ol Peoria during winter break 2 years ago for SIU @ BU (BU won at the very end...AMAZING GAME). I was sitting in the "Student Section" and was kicked out by 10 or so SIU fans who had tickets for the section. WHAT THE NUTS?!?!? The most "influential" position in the basketball court (besides ON the court) is behind the basket during the second half. Why are the opponent's fans sitting there? NOT COOL

4) The student section is broken into 3 parts (right side, band, left side). Why not keep 1 section (left side) for students???? the good tickets can still be sold on the other sections (right side), and the students will still be represented. As for how those tickets are sold and how much they cost....who cares???? BU is pretty tame during breaks anyway. I'd be mroe than happy to pay up to 15 bucks for any of those games....and i doubt i'm alone on that statement.

5) the idea of reallocating the tickets online is GENIUS...give that man a shinny medal!!!

6) Joglass needs to step in and make things happen. She has the testicular fortitude to do it and has the university backing her (i'm guessing).

i think that's it

sorry it was long

I just want to say... Dude.

(Like in the commercials, you've all seen them)

Shinny?

Dude?

Joglass?

Dooood.

Testicular fortitude?

DUUUUUUUDE!!!

Maybe, Bradley should cast a glance to the A-10

Apparently some schools in the Missouri Valley have clout, It would appear Bradley does not rank amoung them (whomever "them"may be).

I guess some didn't like the first one, so it was redone in fine fashion to Bradley's detriment.

You know the Valley only got One team last year, maybe we should look into the A-10.

Why were the sitting there? Because they bought the tickets.

Ummm ... I don't think so.

I don't think 3 big games like these should all be scheduled during the students break, so I on't dont blame the student complaints. But that shouldn't keep them from attending the games when they are in town. When your team is playing be there. Period.

yea...they had tickets
I was being "that guy" who snuck in and tried to get seats...I was young and foolish

but nevertheless the student sections should be for students...or at least BU fans

That is not the point, the point is that those tickets should be available to students, then our fans and NEVER opposing fans.

I understand the complaint about the tickets being for the students. I've been there, done that and completely agree. But knowing that that's not the case and that those tickets are sold to the general public, why is it so hard to believe that fans of the opposing team can buy them? They have every right/opportunity as everyone else. If anything, you should be mad at BU fans for not buying them before the SIU fans.

I kinda think that is the point. They shouldn't be available to the general public.

And I said I get that. But if they're available to the general public, don't get mad when someone from the general public sits there, even if they're a fan of the other team.
