Bradley players in the NBA

Hey - who knew this??

Jayson Kent, who signed a 2-way deal with the Portland Blazers, appeared for a couple minutes in two games
this past week, and even scored a basket for a career NBA scoring total of 2 points!

I believe he is now the 23rd Bradley Brave to play in the NBA/ABA....are there any on the horizon?? Maybe Rienk Mast has a shot?
Also- note that Sean East II, who played one season at Bradley in 2020-21 , is currently averaging 19.4 ppg, 5.3 asst & hitting 44% from 3-pt
for the Salt Lake Stars in the G-League... he is a possibility.

ALSO - I wonder if we can count this guy- Gaylord Woltzen who played at Bradley in the 1920's and played in the
"National Basketball League" with a pretty unique nickname!

Did Mason ever play in the NBA? I believe he played on the GlobeTrotters, but not sure of the NBA.
Bobby likely had the talent to play in the NBA but no, there's no record that he ever did.
He was drafted twice - 36th in 1959 (Minneapolis Lakers) and 41st in 1960 (Cincinnati Royals) but " chose to play for the Harlem Globetrotters instead."
He spent his whole pro career with the Globetrotters - https://centraliasports.org/individual/Mason.html

I asked Google AI which BU players played for the Globetrotters. Here is what I got back:
  • Bobby Joe Mason
(Played at Bradley 1956–1960): A legendary guard who played for the Globetrotters for 15 seasons (1962–1976). He served as team captain and was eventually honored as one of the franchise's "Legends".
  • Lawrence Wright
(Played at Bradley 2004–2006): Known for his high-flying ability, he joined the Globetrotters for the 2006–07 season after participating in the College Basketball Slam Dunk Championship.
  • Jermaine Brown
(Attended Bradley 1998–2000): He played at Bradley before transferring to Minnesota State and later joined the Globetrotters, where he was a teammate of
    Lawrence Wright
    during the 2006 season.
  • Other Notable Associations
    • Chris Roberts
: Drafted by the Harlem Globetrotters in 2010 following his standout career at Bradley, which included a famous 75-foot buzzer-beater. While drafted, he was invited to training camp to become the third Bradley player to tour at that time.
    • Curley "Boo" Johnson
: While a legendary Globetrotter himself, he is the son of the first Black player at Bradley University, who also shared the same name and led Bradley to a national title in 1957.
The national title referred to is the NIT, not the NCAA, however, at the time, the NIT was on par with the NCAA and more prestigious. The 1957 NIT title was the first of four won by BU, three of which were won in an eight-year span. All three were won when Chuck Orsborn was head coach.

I don't know why Mason's and Johnson's names are in red. I simply copied from the answer I received and they turned red from black when I pasted here.

My guess is those two names in red indicate they have links embedded that re-direct to separate pages about those two former Globe Trotters.
