Bradley scheduling into the horizen

JL must have something up his sleeve if he scheduled 4 road games against Horizen league teams. Ie leaving the MVC and getting into a more competitive league. On paper the MVC is better, but, the HL has better venues and more exposure, which helps recruting. What we need to look for is next year, if JL continues the pattern we'll in the HL.

Bigger markets maybe. But venues are a push--maybe, and they don't fill them.

I hated the move of scheduling four Valley teams on the road because it is an inferior league.

2 or 3 is OK. 4 was a bit much. And I didn't like it since they all can't be league contenders. Not that they aren't quality opponents.

However, road games are tough and I want the toughest sked possible. I thought we would be lucky to go 1-3 against the HL, and we went 2-2, so I'll take it and be happy. VCU is a bigger need for us than this Butler game was.

Give me a break.

This Conspiracy Theory needs a naked model to spice it up enough to really get legs.

If anything (adding into your theory)... the Horizon and MVC will combine and join the BCS to form a division of NCAA Div ONE-A and the rest are NCAA Div ONE-2A.

Conspiracy is no problem, JL is the it. He loves to go to chicago and or any where he can hook up with cronies. Motown, indy, chitown anywhere. Its gonna happen.

It looks to me like JL likes going to chicago. Why not his friends, family and taylor all live there. So, take your team up there, be somebody and see everyone. If he gets in the HL he is guaranteed 2 trips a year on BU. That all said, there are no other logical reasons for BU to be in chicago other than ohare for transfers.

Recruiting would be something I would add. We got Maniscalco from Chicago, and there are 4 teams we can play when we go there.

JL has zero interrest in joining the Horizon League. The Horizon league is not better that the MVC. As a whole the Horizon League has venues that are not as impresive as most of the Valley schools. Loyola and Valpo play in what look like high school gyms and Y'town State is little better.

I was thinking something similar earlier this year...BU has scheduled B10 teams that last 2 years...???? Maybe JL is thinking about joining the B10!?!?

The reason for wanting to play in Chicago is two fold:

1: Exposure to the Chicago Market and potential recruits

2: To give any alumni who can't get down to Peoria a chance to see their alma mater play.

Alumni are the biggest reason of the two, school needs donations from their alums.

Yeah, the Nutter, Gentile, and UIC Pavillion are fantastic venues with great fan support.

This is just a rumor but...............................

I hear the REAL reason BU is considering playing in the Great Alaska Shootout is that President Glasser loves Alaska and the cold weather and is considering moving the WHOLE school to Alaska ;)

While I was at the game last night I talked to a Butler fan about the small (under 5,000 official) crowd. I then said is it because of the holiday break for students. He said there might be a few hundred more students but that is about it. I think it is sad that a team that has played as well as Butler has the last few years that they can't get support. If Bradley was 10-1 ranked in the top 20 tickets would be hard to come by. The other thing I noticed is Butler fans only got up and into the game after Bradley fans out yelled them. Lots of red in the crowd.
