Bradley vs. SIU Friday, 3/6/09 in St. Louis

First off, I am new to the site, and I have been reading for quite sometime now. I am a diehard SIU fan, and I am looking for a hardnosed, physical game Friday afternoon. I think IF SIU can somehow keep Wilson in check (by that I mean not having a double-double), it may be a long game for the Braves. However, I will be the first to admit that I believe Bradley on-paper is a better team, but we will see come Friday. Good luck to you all.

BTW- Where are the Bradley sections for the MVC?

How's about 21 and 9? ;)

And here is a column written by a Wichita Eagle sports columnist, not the WSU beat writer, who proposes a total overhaul of the MVC.
He wants to kick out Northern Iowa, Evansville, Indiana State and Drake. He wants to add Butler, Oral Roberts, Western Kentucky, and St. Louis.--

IMO, the guy is either nuts, or just being silly to "stir the pot", and "get a reaction" from readers.
UNI is just coming off a year where they are the #1 seed, and co-champions of the MVC, and he wants them out.
Drake is has been in the MVC more years than any other school, and is coming off their championship season last year.
Kicking Indiana State and Evansville out and ading schools like Oral Roberts would remove the only 2 current Indiana schools, and shift the Missouri Valley farther south and west which would benefit only 1 member- Wichita State! I wonder why this Wichita writer might think that's a good idea?
And exactly how does this writer propose kicking 4 schools out at once? Where are all the votes going to come from? It would require that all 6 other schools unanimously agree to do this, otherwise, there wouldn't be enough votes to do this.

Thanks for signing up and we always look forward to insightful comments from any knowledgeable college basketball fans.

I also believe it should be a hardnosed, physical game if the refs call it correctly. The way I love to see a ref call a game, that is letting the bigs bang, not calling incidental contact (flopping), no hand checking would make this a fun game to watch otherwise this could be one of those classic Valley games where a ref just blows his whistle once a minute to be heard.

How bout someone stream it on justin.tv with a trusty ole camcorder connected to the computer? Even a webcam would work, although quality wouldn't be that great but it's still something. It shouldn't take that long to setup I wouldn't think.

No, the tournament games, and all games that are shown on the MVC-TV network, are not available for online streaming anywhere, unless you can find them on a pirate site like Channelsurfing.net or Justin.tv.

Anyone know if this game will be available on bubraves tv online for us out of towners? The old lady is 8 months pregnant so I cant make the trip from Charleston, SC to St.Louis. I am hoping my local sports bar has access to Fox Sports midwest, but if they dont I need a back-up plan.

I guess my back-up back-up plan is WMBD online, but Id rather WATCH the game if possible.

Ryan

Direct Tv carries FSMW all over the country. Channel 671, I believe. If you have a Buffalo Wild Wings in your area, they will have it. If not I'd just call around sports bars, or find a buddy with DTV and fork over some money.

Also looks like Comcast Chicago (665) will have today's 2:30 Bradley game live. (evening games will be tape delayed (preempted by the Bulls)) and it looks like the Blackhawks will pre-empt most of Saturday's early game...

On a somewhat related note, I just got a e-mail from the Horizon league (since I subscribed for their nice, free streaming on past BU games). They are going to go pay-per-view for their tourney games, and would like to continue pay-per-view in the future. At least they made a correct statement, They believe they have improved the quality of their product enough to be worth paying for.

Well best of luck to the Braves today and throughout the weekend! I think with some luck we have as good a chance as anyone else to win this tourney. Go BU! :D

Where do I sign up for MVC-TV to watch it online? Thanks.

Do you have Direct TV or Dish Network? Direct TV is showing the game on Fox Sports Midwest and Comcast Sports Chicago with the Sportspack (or on Comcast in the Chicago area with their local channels).
