Has anyone else noticed that the BU website is useless? Pages load and then instantly unload, never to be seen again. Or they load, unload, then reload. Sometimes it just doesn't load at all. The information is outdated. The audio links STILL don't work. Etc.

I don't know who's in charge of that mess, but his/her job should be on the line. This is an embarrassment for an institution claiming to be a major D-I university. God help us if recruits ever check that thing.

I would forward complaints to Bobby Parker. He is very responsive and usually gets back to you right away. Whether something happens or not, that's a different story.

They have the answer up, and they are using technology on their website that requires the NEW Internet Explorer 7.0.
Sadly, though, many systems that are even just 2-3 years old, like mine, cannot and do not support the new version of Explorer, so I cannot get it.
I hope Bobby Parker finds out that so many of the Bradley people cannot view their pages, and there's nothing we can do about it
unless we fork out thousands to upgrade or buy new computers!!!

Release: 09/05/2007

PEORIA, Ill. -- Fans having problems with the Bradley Athletics website (www.bubraves.com) are encouraged to download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. According to XOS Technologies older versions of Internet Explorer may result in problems when viewing bubraves.com

For a free version of Internet Explorer visit the following link -

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx

Here is a solution that you could try
Go to
www.filehippo.com

then find the option among the browsers to download Internet Explorer 7.0, and proceed to click on it and download. If you are unable to download, at least it tells you a reason why you can't.

That's kinda funny. For those who can't load the site, they post an explanation on the site that can't be loaded. I'll bet most recruits don'e have version 7.0.

XOS is killing college websites. My guess is it's only a matter of time before something better comes along.

One of the things I used to enjoy about going to college websites is each one was as unique as the institution itself. Now they are all cookie cutter, generic, and annoying.

While XOS is flavor of the day, something better is probably not too far behind.

A fix I learned ...

A fix I learned ...

I'm using 6 at work because they won't allow the upgrade to 7, and quickly learned this trick: When the site "unloads", move your mouse (without clicking) over the red menu on the left hand side of the page. This usually makes the content reappear for me.

I have also minimized the window and when that happens, the site will load everything and then you can maximize the window with everything there.

Guys try loading Firefox as your browser. Also if you have an old system you may want to virtualize your apps. This will allow you to run them in a controled environment.

Moving the mouse over the red toolbar worked for me too.

I run Firefox and it works great with the BU site. IMO Firefox is faster and better on 75%+ of the websites anyway.

These guys are right, in general I am a MS fan, but Firefox is just so much better, it can display more pages and takes up far less system resources.

I use both Microsoft and Firefox. That said, if you are using Microsoft, why are you not keeping up to date and installing all upgrades?

The people at Bradley, and XOS Technologies are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. I received an email last night from the Bradley Athletic Dept. with a copy of a response from XOS (the company that manages the website). They wanted me to post it so users knew it was being fixed, and they appreciate your patience.--

We are actively working to identify the issue
described by some Braves fans with respect to how
the site is displaying when using certain platform
and browser combinations. We do develop all sites
to render correctly in IE 6, IE 7, Firefox and Safari
as cross-platform compatibility is an important
element for reaching as many alums and fans as
possible. We expect to have resolution shortly; we
are actively working to identify the root cause for
the display error.

Across our network, the browser breakdown among
site visitors for this month is below:

Rank...Browser..........Unique Browsers Percent
1...... MSIE 6.0................46.07
2...... MSIE 7.0................34.28
3...... Mozilla Firefox 2.0.....11.46
