Last Wednesday night, in a phone conversation with Bradley coach Paula Buescher, Kelly Frings gave BU a verbal commitment.
Kelly Frings is a 6'1" forward who will be a senior at Milwaukee Pius XI High School in New Berlin, Wisconsin next school year.
Frings, a first-team All-Classic 8 Conference and honorable mention all-state player last season, led the league in scoring (13.1 points per game), rebounding (7.4 per game), steals (2.4) and three-point baskets (23). Frings chose Bradley over Northern Iowa, Ball State, Princeton, Youngstown State, Miami (Ohio) and Air Force.

A couple weeks ago, Frings' AAU teammate Kelsey Budd, (Jr; Sauk Prairie H.S) also committed to Bradley.

Kelsey Budd is a 5'9 combo guard. Last season, Budd averaged 17.2 points, 4.6 assists and 2.7 steals for the Sauk Prairie (WI) Eagles. She was selected first team all-area by the State Journal, honorbale mention all-state by the Associated Press, and was named first team all-conference in the Badger North for the third straight year. Kelsey helped lead her Sauk Prairie team to their first conference title in 30 years and a sectional final berth, where they were defeated by Middleton. Budd selected Bradley over Creighton, Vermont, and Northern Iowa.

Kelly Frings and Kelsey Budd will sign their national letters of intent with Bradley in November of this year. Both players played for the Wisconsin Fastbreak Select 17U AAU team.

I think this is my sister's school district in Milwaukee...will see if her kids know anything about this girl. Sounds like a couple of good finds for the BU women!

Thanks BradleyMom.

I got that info from a recruiting site, so sorry for the error.

If you have any more information about the 2 Wisconsin girls who committed to BU, let us know.

I have done some research on these two, through relatives, former teammates in WI and friends in the AAU scene:
-Budd has an amazing ability to drive and finish. She is also a precision passer and can find anyone, at any time. Hard nosed defender and very tough.
-Frings ppg avg does not accurately reflect the total ball player she is. She can shoot the 3, post up, and take it to the hoop. Also, very long arms which allows her to be a good shot blocker.
Both together compliment each other well and should be very fun to watch. Paula did a great job getting these two.

I agree!

I agree!

Couldn't agree more with BUHoops' assessment, a talented, fun pair of athletes to watch play. And Big Mike, I love the enthusiastic attitude!

Thanks for the info. We'd welcome any other reports and inside info you can give us about their upcoming senior seasons.
