Wed, Nov 01 BU vs. Winona State at Robertson Fieldhouse 7:35 p.m.

Winona State is located in Winona, MN 55987-5838
They play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference

The schools in their conference include:

Bemidji State University Bemidji MN
Concordia University, St. Paul St. Paul MN
University of Mary Bismarck SD
Minnesota State University Moorhead
University of Minnesota, Crookston
Northern State University Aberdeen SD
Southwest Minnesota State University Marshall MN
Upper Iowa University Fayette IA
Wayne State College (Nebraska) Wayne NE
Winona State University Winona MN

They are ranked #1 in the preseason D-II polls and by Street & Smith's, and they WON the D-II National Championship last year with a 73-61 win over Virginia Union.

Junior John Smith, once a recruiting target of Bradley, from Johnsburg (IL) High School, kis their star player and is a preseason All American and the Preseason NSIC (Conference) Player of the Year.

They play Drake tonight, so we will get a little bit of a scouting report, then they have only 24 hours rest before playing BU at the fieldhouse.
Jeremy Fears and Ray Brown (both of whom played in the Red-White scrimmage) will NOT play as they are ineligible.
Sam Singh will not play and Danny Adams is questionable.

Winona's three exhibition D-I opponents will be Drake, BU, and Minnesota.

Here is a link to their roster, their players all hail from Minnesota (6 players), Wisconsin (7 players), Iowa (1 player), and Illinois (2 players).
They did lose a great player in David Zellman, who helped them win their title game with a 26 point performance.

They also have a player, senior forward Quincy Henderson, who transferred from Division I Creighton two seasons ago.

And the Winona players are NOT looking at these as just exhibitions, they are looking at these exhibitions as possibly the "biggest games of the year"!

Drake Head Coach Tom Davis might miss the game (in which case his son Keno Davis will take over as coach), as he has been ill lately, missing the MVC Media Day (Sunday and Monday). Get Well Coach Tom !!

Good Gravy, WSU can't hang on to the ball worth beans. I'd hate to be a fly on the wall in that locker room, Coach Leaf will be fired up.

Everyone and BradleyBrave especially...

JC looks like he is gonna fill some voids this season. I know I went round and round with some and said I need to see proof... I AM SOLD!

And I couldn't be happier.

JC is a great guy, solid player, and I LOVE listening to him in the post-game.

So far so good. JC looks quicker, stronger, meaner, and confident. All facets of his game look to be improved. This team will certainly need this kind of play to continue. These are just exhibitions, lets hope JC keeps it up. Every BU fan likes what they see so far.
