Braves Douse Flames

The BU women built up an early 23 point cushion and hung on to post their first W of the new season 69 - 62. Five Braves were in double figures to lead a balanced scoring attack. There were lots of new faces in the lineup and at least 2 alums from last year's team watching from the stands.

The ladies now travel to Alaska for a tournament. I wish I was going with them. They return to the fieldhouse Tuesday, November 27 to host Eastern Illinois.

5 Braves were in double figures:

Rachel Merriman had 11 and a team high 9 dimes
Monica Rogers had 11 and a team high 13 boards
Raisa Taylor had 11 and a team high 2 blocks
Jenny Van Kirk had 11
Devyn Flanagan had 10

Box Score

Devyn is my fave player.

I like a lot of the girls, but of them.... I like Skye Johnson's quickness, Raisa Taylor has impressed me, and Monica Rogers has flat out got game (I love her shot)!

Jasmine Wright left the team last year and did not return this year. There was never any official news released, but from what I hear, she didn't get along with the coach. I think she saw herself as a 3-point shooter, which the team didn't need.

I'm sure I might get crap for this, but that hasn't stopped me before.....

Any chance we can trade the results of men's and women's games vs. UIC?
