Braves win 68-59!!!!!

That name sure fits this guy. Not sure I have ever seen a referee groupie but I suppose they are out there.:lol: Maybe thats why he likes Peoria:cool: It seems like we have had him alot at home recently.

I take credit for naming him baywatch. I coined that MANY years ago at the Valley tourney and it stuck.

I will say he used to be a bad ref but really have to give him his due. He's come along way and is pretty good know...save for the DSE charge. But I blame THAT more on the NCAA for the no half circle under the hoop.

Did any of you consider, ... ... ...

Maybe each and all of these home losses as well as the ones on the road {but because of the fact they were in our own back yard} games represented in some way, be it big or small, some sort of a stepping stone on the learning curve leading us to our game and home win today?

Another thought I have I would enjoy seeing realized in this afternoon's victory: All of those fouls in the second half [no matter who they were called on] did one very important and helpful cause for our not so deep team. It gave them several chances of catching their breath and getting extra and obviously more than enough rest to get the job done. Remember, there is a limit to how many time outs can or may be called. These added instances of rest surely only aided us where needed in accomplishing the set out goal of winning the game. I had a ball!!!

can we ditch the purple lol.....i see what you are saying...i wish it didn't take 12 losses to get to the stop of the stairs

Great second half, maybe that is the key, fall behind in the first half and then come back, instead of get a 10 pt lead and blow it.

Also, rushing the court was retarded.

Great second half. I was pleased with the energy and focus that the team came out with after a lackluster first half.
Hopefully, this effort gives us the confidence we need to run off a few more wins in a row heading into STL.

Great win by BU. Must have been fun to watch/listen to. Wish it had been an evening game. I couldn't stream the audio/join the chat room while I was out hiking the AZ desert mountains this afternoon in sunny 75 degree weather. ;)

Will have to check out the archieved video.

very proud of the team today! They finally showed some stones and manned up! Huge win and one I thought we would get. The fans were much better today but section 3 should be ashamed of themselves. With fifteen seconds left and running out the clock on our 1st victory over a ranked team at home IN 27 YEARS, the entire section was still on their butts....pathetic. One guy even screamed at a kid on the stairwell to sit down a minute earlier. Other than that, a great effort by both players and fans today!

Outstanding win. The 2nd half was some of the best defense i've seen BU play. Held UNI to 19% shooting in 2nd half and 16 turnovers overall. That is very stunning, I can't recall the last time a team shot under 20% for a whole half.

Even more impressive considering Egleseder can easily pop jump shots over Egolf and Singh. However, they both held their ground and really pushed Egleseder out of the post.

In the post game, Warren mentioned that Les unleashed a profanity laced tirade during halftime, was very intense. For a team to come out that aggressive on the D, it definitely had an affect on the team. Obviously Les can't unleash profanity tirades every halftime but definitely needs to bring the energy/upbeat speeches.

I was kind of disturbed that many people were yelling/moaning when Singh was replacing Egolf. Granted his play sucked today but he only has 2 more games in front of the hometown fans, give him some support at least instead of moaning and groaning before he steps on the floor to play. We want to encourage our former players to come back and support their former team, don't want them to think "Oh yeah, their the ones telling me to stay on the bench my last few home games."

Technically, IL. State could of been in the same boat as us. They have won 3 very close games in a row. By 3 against Drake, by 1 against us and 4 against Creighton. Could of easily been 3 straight losses. Couple bounces of a ball here and there is all it takes.

Overall, this was an outstanding win, but I highly doubt Bradley would have the stamina in the Tourney to take down a potential lineup of Creighton, IL. State and UNI in 3 straight days.

It was nice to see what happened when the team played their game until the end instead of all thise home losses where we got a lead and then just tried to run the clock out for the final 5-10 minutes!!

This was my first trip to Carver this year and I was disappointed to hear all the moans and groans regarding SS. I think SS has had some good moments here on the hilltop over the past decade and has been and will be a great ambassador for BU basketball. Outside of this game of basketball, I believe SS a great guy and that's the bigger picture in all this.

Great game today, fans included.

I understand the fans want to see a good team out there on the floor, but I hope we as fans have not lost sight to the fact that these are kids playing out there, not pros! I'm not the biggest SS fan, but to hear that fans were groaning at him reeks of the type of malcontents that are constantly booing athletes at professional sporting events! They are kids playing the game, and I think some lose sight of that.

Also too bad to hear that there were still a few fans demanding that the ones in front of them sit down! Glad that most were really into the game, but there's always a few in the crowd that ruin it for the rest. Hopefully the crowd remains into each remaining home game we have left. Winning at Indy St. will help keep the momentum going.

Dave Reynolds' article with a lot of great pictures-

One notable stat from the game was UNI guard Johnny Moran's 0-5 from the field. All 5 misses were from 3-point range, and all 5 missed badly. He was a terrific 3-point shooter last season as a fresh man, but this year he's been sub-par with a 25% average on threes (20-80). He looks like a different player. It's a credit to UNI that they have continued to win despite getting poor shooting from Moran, but sooner or later, it's going to hurt them.
