Brad Stevens pulled the rug out by going to Boston. If he had followed Mark Few's example and stayed at Butler forever, who knows what they may have accomplished.Butler was halfway there then someone pulled the rug out from under them
Stevens leaving definitely didn't help, but I think the biggest difference between Gonzaga and Butler is that Gonzaga stayed in the WCC which allowed them to keep winning the conference when they got strong to start and keep momentum. Butler went to the Big East, and now are a small fish.Brad Stevens pulled the rug out by going to Boston. Below is the latest episode (Fri., Sept. 19) of Morning in the Valley by Murray State broadcaster Jeff Bidwell. He does a terrific job posting 3 days per week (Mon., Wed., and Fri.) and covers a variety of topics that relate to the Missouri Valley Conference. On this episode, he discusses the Field of 68 list of the Top 25 Mid-Majors that includes six MVC teams, and he has a nice interview with new Drake head coach Eric Henderson. For those who don't know, Jeff Bidwell, who did that interview with Coach Wardle, is the radio broadcast voice for Murray State basketball and football. He does a great job promoting Murray State sports, but he now is doing a lot more to promote Missouri Valley sports, too, especially basketball. He owns and runs a couple websites-
https://www.racerbasketball.com/ - a website which has nice coverage of Murray State basketball
and he does "Morning in the Valley", a regular podcast covering MVC topics. It exists as an X.com account (https://x.com/MorningInValley) and a YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@MorningInTheValley), where you can find archived older podcasts.
Bradley fans will find it worthwhile to follow him on those sites.
