Damage? How many people do you think really follow twitter and, specifically, Will Egolf's account? I'll tell you -- 104 followers! Wow! That's A LOT of hurt wittle feelings. ;) In the end this will be a non-issue (unless someone from the PJS chooses to pick this up and make a big deal out of to attempt to embarrass the kid or BU).

Just because he only has that many followers doesn't mean others don't read it...

I have a Twitter account, but never use it...just for certain baseball and football updates, and I don't follow any of the players or coaches, BUT I do read their feeds....

Really isn't much of a difference unless you like the feeds sent to your mobile...

Winning teams pick themselves up, but fans need to pick the team up as well whether they are winning or not.

As much as this team has let the fans down... They need to pick the fans up, and give them something to cheer about, AND WIN. Everything else will fall into place

What WE and other BU players have to say about lack of BU fan support is their right. But rights come with responsibilities.

These aren't grade school soccer players! Most have been pampered and
idolized since they were very young and feel they are/should be bullet proof.
They have been given opportunities and support we all would have given our left nu* for.

WE and other BU players need to man up.

If college is supposed to prepare youth for the real world, then get over poor performance reviews by the crowd when your, or your team's, performance suffers.

Welcome to my world big guy.

If you don't want fans to boo or leave early, give them something to cheer about and something they want to stay and enjoy.

WE, go get em and win out in the MVC - and pick up some post season hardware and alocades for your successful performance vs your peers!

Respect is earned, not given.

Great post AZ. If they don't like poor performance reviews, they better not ever go out into the real world. Grow up is all I can say.

Well, yes and no. I know the Cameron Crazies for example would not wait until their team is down 10 points to start standing up and cheering!

Cameron Crazies have front row seats :D Imagine that! BU admin needs to find a better way to make Carver a home court advantage. They could seat the students in better seats but then the money makers would complain. It is what it is until BU starts playing its home games in another venue.

You DO make some great points here AZ BU Fan. Especially your last line about respect. :) However, I still cannot condone booing the players for poor performance. Blatant laziness or poor sportsmanship YES. Poor execution and performance NO. I might condone booing the coach but I'd never do it as it would be disrespectful to the players and could hurt recruiting when recruits are at the game. That's just me.

Excellent game yesterday everybody! Here are my thoughts on the game:
Clearly our teams are very similar...with lathan in that game I believe its a different game but with Carter, Printy and Reed its difficult to transition to every shooter,Lathan gives us that slasher two point basket threat...Defensively we picked it up in the second half...If we didnt get that far behind in the first I dont feel we lose that game unfortunately we really were that cold lol...

thinking the players are thinking the booing was for them ....when in fact it was meant for the coach.....guy behind me kept yelling Fire Les...several times.....hope someone buys his tickets ;)

I know for the SIU game, the people in the student section got their tickets through CAT... Hence why it was full of SIU purple. Once again, the university making a quick buck and not giving two sh*ts about the atmosphere while the students are gone.

What else is new...When students are gone 90% of the people that sit in those seats are as worthless as the 90 yr old people sitting at center court that fall asleep before halftime.

There were also a large contingent of SIU fans from Putnam County who were they to support Carlton Fay, and a few more from the Chicago area who were friends and family of some of the other SIU players (Tony Freeman, Kevin Dillard, Justin Bocot) and former players (Mike Mullins, father of Bryan Mulllins was behind the SIU bench).
Many of those people can't make it to Carbondale so easily.

Explain to me how Bradley University knows which team CAT employees are going to support? Maybe we should have ticket buyers sign a contract that they will only cheer for the home team. Really, we have Bradley fans that won't stand up and cheer for their own team, but don't seem to have a problem booing them.

Some teams do try to do this-
The game we played at UIC a couple seasons ago- I bought lower bowl tickets through their ticket office and charged them on a credit card. After I got off the phone with them and they went to put the charge through, they realized my address was a Peoria area address (I do not actually live in Peoria). They called me back and notified me that lower bowl tickets were only for the home team fans, and I was being reassigned to the upper bowl.
I have lost all respect for Jimmy Collins and his miserable program.
