Wow! To think I've personally seen 17 of the top 25 play...... I'm gettin' OLD!

Same here... (have seen 17 out of the 25 play)

better do what I do... use the three point line as an excuse... it works for 10 out of the 17... maybe 11 if you claim Luke Jackson, but I doubt that Luke made too many threes.:)

Pretty impressive list. Only 6 other Division I schools can tout a scorer with over 3,000 career points. And 3 of the top 12 scorers of all time were from the Missouri Valley.
Interestingly, 2 of the top 3 scorers in women's D1 history are also from the MVC.

Yes, most of the players didn't have the benefit of the three-pointer, and many didn't get to play as freshmen in their era.

Da Coach... with the long rich history UIUC has, I am surprised there aren't any players from the state flagship on the list you provided.

I had Crouch ahead of Ruffin

I had Crouch ahead of Ruffin

I was trying to figure out where those two fell on the list on Wednesday night and I had Crouch at 1264 and Ruffin at 1243. That would put Crouch up a spot and Ruffin at #24 all time.

welcome to the board 16....you are right...I made the correction...there was a lot of work to this since the BU stats site didn't include the last game (Virginia) and I took Tony Bennetts #'s and gave them to DR one year....so the list is right now! ;wink:

The most impressive thing on the list of scorers is that the #1 guy, Pistol Pete Maravich
is further ahead of the 2nd lpace guy than the 2nd place guy is ahead of the 13th best.
In other words.....Pete is so far ahead nobody will ever catch him in a 3-year college career.

yep-- Pistol only played 3 years because back then freshmen were not eligible, and he never had the benefit of the 3-point shot!
