BU Asst Coach officially named

Jim Platt is the new assistant. Please someone poop on my post like you did this afternoon...

Also...I have never posted anything but positive thoughts on this hire...I really, really like it. But again, poop away on what I say. I don't donate enough to have an opinion or know someone who knows something I guess.

I understand your pain BB.....I am glad you and others posted the info yesterday. Thank you

Nothing prophetic. Got a tip, posted it, had other sources that substantiated it, but the thought police weren't happy that they didn't break it. Not my fault. For folks who supposedly hate the regime in Washington and the thought control and baseless smearing they practice, I found it a bit hypocritical..especially since I thought it was a very good move for BU! What's the real agenda here?

Keep up the good work BB! :)

Does BU have another asst coaching opening with the departure of Merfeld and Buescher and the addition of Platt?

It'll be Versace. And pity the poor player who gets on the wrong side of the coaching staff. As they continue to out-do each other as in the old days, "100 suicides" "You say 100, I say 200" "200 for wimps, lets make it 400..."

At the risk of being deleted by the mods...dare I say I am very, very happy with this hire. The more I read, the more I like. One of my biggest complaints over the past year or so has been the capabilities and qualifications of the staff. With Platt, we're on par with any team in the Valley. With the apparent lack of input and impact from Merfeld (perhaps by no fault of his, but that's pure speculation), one can argue we haven't been this solid in four years (since Chuck Buescher left), and could argue even more that we haven't had an assistant this qualified since Rob Judson helped Jim Molinari (longtime colleague of Platt) to a Valley title. A staff on par with the rest of DI, and players I think have been near the top of the MVC for 8 years? Am I crazy to think we SHOULD win a title sooner than later? Welcome Jim Platt, and I can't wait to see the positive effect you have on our program!

How can you call this a good hire? He is 37 games under 500 as a head coach what would be a bad hire? I would take EB back over this guy any day.

May have something to do with 20+ years of experience as an assistant with a reputation as an excellent defensive coach and taskmaster?

Awesome.

EDIT: Could this be the first time that Wikipedia was the leading source of breaking news?

Well there's a first time for everything! :D

Great hire for Bradley. Good to see that our time in March has paid some dividends already.

Now let's get that big center we need! :)
