I do not take that statement lightly and am betting the majority of BU fans would not. The question is what can we do as fans to help BU create an atmosphere in which a successful program can flourish in a consistent manner. What in reality is in our control? College basketball landscapes seem to change every decade and we need make sure that in the next wave of changes that we are in a favorable light. My thoughts are that we have very little room for error and whatever this administration decides to do it will have a huge impact for the foreseeable future on our basketball program which will indirectly effect the ability for the school to raise serious funds. I hate to say it but BU depends on the basketball program for a large amount of their branding and we either change that pattern or start making the right decisions that will allow us to compete at the highest levels consistently.
The question us fans should pose, is not if JL is the best coach we can get, but do we have a leadership in place that has the vision and capability to get the basketball program in the upward direction we all believe is our inalienable right. In short we should start demanding to hear from the leadership the grand plan of getting this program back to national prominence.
