BU-Creighton post-game thread

I think that demoralizing them on our court, and then beating them on their senior night would give us a decided mental advantage. CU is young and inexperienced, and it showed tonight. They let us back in the game with a stupid technical on Stinnet, and dumb, quick shots by their young guys. Yeah, they might have been a little more 'motivated' to start the game next week, but I think it would always be in their head that BU has beaten them twice already. I don't like the fact that they now know that they can come back from 5 down with under a minute to play against us, or can run a simple ball screen for a wide open 3 whenever they want. That was some of the worst ball screen defense I have ever seen in my life. Yeah, I am not happy right now. Put it in whatever context you like, we let a team that's not as good as we are win a game that they should not have won.

You said it Brave They are not as good. Our guys will come back ready to win in St. Lou. Very hard to beat a good team like Creighton 3 times in less than a month. We were gonna loose one of em, so I'll take the loss in Omaha for the Win in St. Lou. (not Vice Versa).

Statistically we win in Omaha I don't feel as good about how we come out against them this comming Friday.

This loss did feel like somebody kicked a soccer ball in my groin though.

I am disappointed that BU loss, but thankfully, I do not feel like I was kicked in my nether regions like several others mentioned... Whew!

Just a couple of things:
One thing that gives me hope for the future is that we have been a decent road team this year. Players like SamM, Will, and AT can at least see what it takes to win on the road at this level.

If I am David Collins, I would have to wonder what my role on the team is for the future. I hope Collins improves, but when a walk on gets more pt than DC it should at least send a message to improve.

One point of change for Friday, SM shoot more and TCS shoot less. TCS is 3 for 16 shooting the last 2 games, SM is 6 for 13. Use TCS as the ball handler. He's been doing great on the D & ball handling.

I didn't see the game, but listened as we fouled on a made layup and then turn the ball over immediately. Meanwhile, I was watching the SIU game and seeing all night long exactly how a team should foul a layup attempt.

I was watching the game-- the "quick turnover" was P'Allen Stinnett flying through the air and either knocking the ball out of bounds or fouling Theron Wilson with a slap to knock the ball out of his hands, but somehow, whichever happened the ref called it out on Theron. I guess he thought Theron was so shocked by P'Allen's flying that it was time to just throw the ball out of bounds of his own volition.

Last night's game was so much fun to watch. One of my roommates paid for the feed from Creighton's site and we hooked it up to the tv...the quality was actually pretty good.

One problem....Matt Salley is quite possible the weakest basketball player in the country. I have never seen a player lose so many balls he has gotten his hands on. It makes me sick. He can't finish going towards the basket. I really hope he plays more like he played in the last few games before this one in St. Louis.

We did the same. It was hard to read the score display at times and the dancing people got fairly annoying, but overall it was a decent feed.

What was annoying is the hundredth time the anouncer said "Nothing but nylon!".

no kidding... an otherwise fair and professional announcing job totally ruined by someone forcing their "trademark line" every 30 seconds... i counted at least 2 times where he was in the middle of saying it when the ball rimmed out

In order to win the MVCT we have to play 120 minutes of consistant basketball. There is not one easy game out there. If we played 40 minutes against CU we would have won but it seems we have to many stretches where we can't get a basket or a stop. During those stretches we are usually TO prone, no inside D, and are settling for fade away 3 pointers. What I really like about Drakes game is that without a dominant big man they find ways to get points in the paint, usually by driving in picking up fouls and if nothing there finding the open guy for an open look.

Forgot about that quote. I do remember it from 2 years ago after Dave got sick, and I decided to follow the game (instead of the amusing BU feed) in the 2nd half.
